i've read things online where slaves have mentioned their slave sisters, and i always thought that it meant they were part of a poly family. Now i've realised that some slaves refer to all other slaves as being their sisters.
i'm just curious to know where this idea comes from, if anyone knows? Why would all slaves be sisters? Does that mean that male slaves are known as brothers?
Thank you.

Even outside of BDSM, there are people who think of their fellow men as "brothers" and fellow women as "sisters".
In both cases, BDSM and otherwise, the terms come from a sense of solidarity. There is no implication or pretence of being "blood siblings". Merely an indication of sisterhood(or brotherhood) in sharing similar experiences.
Terms like "brothers in arms", "sorority house", etc. spring from the same source.

| Greetings Masters.
Greetings Mistresses.
greetings slaves.
this girl refers to other slaves as either "slaves" or "brothers and sisters" because of the whole mental image of those in service being "siblings in bondage." However, should she have any siblings of the chain someday, she refers to them as "brothers/sisters of the chain" which defines them as being property of her Maestro, just as she is His property.
Hope that helps.

well, i only say it in the context of someone who is a part of my Owner's house/extended family. It's a really big deal to me and has alot of meaning so a person doesnt get that casually. to be honest i find the custom of everyone being 'sister' just for being submissive to be a bit offensive.
but then what my Owner does with slaves is so different to the usual scene stuff that i dont feel solidarity with other submissives outside Our lives. usually i feel i have little in common with a scene submissive and that we are, in fact, often coming from opposite perspectives. though thankfully that can be changed.
to me i guess being a sister really means something. it means We're together, We're on the same side, sharing Our lives, pulling for the same goals. not just on the surface like friends but much deeper, sharing the innermost defining parts of Our whole life. it means We're safe with each other and looking out for one another.. being family. in a very real sense that becomes deeper than blood.
sometimes the words come first and the proving the truth of it comes afterwards but i dont see just anybody as part of my family. the family is much more sacred than that.
and yes i do understand that thats not what other people mean.. i just dont like diluting such a special word with something that isnt special at all.
thats my take on it at least *smile*

This isn't about people living in the same house (or even on the same continent) though is it?

Youre right, belonging to my Owner's household and extended family isnt about living on the premises of His flat. im rather confused as to why One would think so as im sure the term of a Master's 'House' isnt a new one, is it?
well, it means something a bit like 'stable' but minus the horsey flair *smile*
but im sorry if i was somehow unclear. maybe it confuses the issue that i lived in His flat for years with sister slaves on the premises and sometimes on other continents.. as i am now while i wait to go home again.
