Actually the best advice I can give is read all the past posts. You'll find a range of opinions (to put it mildly) from Masters and slaves. Slaves tend to talk the most but you'll also find some sound advice from experienced masters.

Reading past posts is a really good idea. You WILL get a huge variety of opinions and ideas. So far no one has been able to codify and legalize any of it so you are free to explore and get the ideas that speak to you.
