Thank you seant70 for your opinion. As that is all it is. This slave has been here longer than 5 minutes if you dared to look at its profile, which you didn't. It has been on this site for roughly 2 years and left for a few months due to the elitist attitude and unwelcome approach many posters here seem to have regarding newer members, much like how you just appeared with your assumptions. Simply put, this slave finds your presumptive ness and clear bias against those who don't share your opinions regarding how this site is run, is clouding your self-control.

Thrall, the slave of Master Shades13th. His slave, property, pet, adult little girl.

Sure, my opinion is indeed 'all' it is - as is yours, as are the rest of the members and even the Owner of the very board we write on. Just written opinions on a forum, on the Internet. Wow. How exciting.

Isn't it a shame then, that you chose not to consider more about promoting the cause of the board and continue on the line of 'finding' whatever it is that you did. You either have a very poor grasp of how to use English, or, came to some very poor conclusions. I can't decide which. I'm not really bothered, and after I finish this post, I'll be withdrawing from this thread so you can whine to your heart's content about the monster that made an ass of himself (ASSUME makes an ass of u (me), see below, if you have brain enough to get the explanation), after all, I have no self-control, nor a clue what I'm writing, nor why, and I clearly type a string of words for the fun of it, hoping that someone might like them one day..are you kidding me?

I know exactly what I just said and I acquit myself very plainly, not that I give a ToSs..ya see what I did there? (I'll retract that)

Again..from the top, just for you, person that doesn't understand the joke from the Christmas Cracker.

I made myself abundantly clear (and believe me, I will be shortly) I have nothing against snowy, or anyone else on this board, past, present, nor will I in the future - truth is I've been deeply saddened by the loss of some past members, but then of course you know that because you know me so fucking well, don't you; I also made it clear why I chose not to call her by her current user-name. I also made it clear what the difference is between a post of hers when she isn't struggling to acquit herself on the board and when she is. It's not about the board being fair to people, it's about the people calling 'foul' on the board about the board users and what they have to say.

Fact and this is the way it is; and this is one of the reasons why I came back; if you, or snowy, or anyone else (for that matter), cannot handle how someone might write a post, for its content, for its intent, or just because you can't handle the fact that people aren't all the same, then shut the fuck up and piss off.

Freedom of Speech MUST prevail here. It has to, else no-one in time of need, who has a crisis, will feel that they can come here, absolutely barren, and say whatever they feel, whenever they feel, however they feel.

Moderation, as it is...is fan-bloody-tastic. And always has been. How many times has that been said? You can have a police presence, then you can have over-policing. I've been to places, and I know others have, where a heavy police (moderation) presence just makes people uneasy, at odds with each other. It creates un-necessary tension. Admin here has the balance just about right.

I know exactly the 'tone and intonation and 'amount' of self control' this post carries, unlike you, who would really have a clue because you're only (just) as old as one of my children, and as such wouldn't have had a premise to know me, or how I write, or think - at all. Funny that.

I never - repeat never..make assumptions about anything. That is just foolhardy and grossly stupid.

I did 'dare' to look at your profile, which oddly you presumed (laughably) that I didn't, and while we're on that subject, there's a very clear inception date on each and every one of them, isn't there. You did maths at school right? Yours: Created on: 12 Jul 2011. Mine: Created on: 22 Jan 2003. As shown with the two dates given, even if you chose to delete your profile and use the same one on your return (as *I* did on mine), the date of inception would remain the same as when it was first created. It doesn't change. So, for all intents, 'that' (your) profile is like 6 months old or less as it says on the left of the screen - a comparative, not literal 5 minutes.

So whether or not 'you' were here before, is irrelevant, your profile as it stands there, isn't 'that' old. Certainly not 2 years. So, what did you say your old profile was again?

Now, as for the 'elitist attitudes' of some of the more seasoned members, including me, towards newer posters or novice members, I think you'll actually find that it's simply a case of ourselves really 'being' exactly that, because we can, and we see no reason not to be. We're not stupid and sure as shit stinks, we ain't plastic fantastic just because someone comes along and doesn't like the way something is written or they think it should be written their way.

Ya wanna read something your way? Write it that way. I take my coffee black and strong. No sugar. Don't be tellin' me how to sweeten it. T'ain't 'my' fault some people need to read stuff with a lil milk (and yes, I did watch that episode of Sex And The City, and all the rest of them, but I'm willing to bet you can't tell me who my favourite character is, and why).

This is an adult (grown up, and believe me, ymmv on that, mine certainly does..) website and therefore, I said one time in one of my posts that gave rise to your original reply, and I'll repeat it since you seem to have trouble getting your facts clear;

SeanT70 wrote:
Everyone (apart from the new kids on the block) will know who I am, and how I write, and the fact I've written some really acidic, or half decent posts in the past, but at the end of the day we're all adults here, and if you don't like the posts here..simply.. DON'T READ THEM! Not all the posts on all the days by all the members are gonna be agreeable all the time, are they.

(..that's Page 4 of this thread on 9 January @ 9.37am, just in case ya wanna go split some more hairs when ya looking for it)

Now, in closing, before I finish this post, I will make myself completely, absolutely, abundantly clear.

Having written the rest of the post and corrected it, this post is airtight, with no assumptions, presumptions, misquotes, delusions or fouls. It presents facts, Right in front of you. I even quoted and gave times so you don't have to think about it, but I dare say you'll check while that next mouthful to spit is swelling up, so if you wanna whine about this post, please do, have your opinion, but remember one thing very clearly.

I will absolutely defend this boards integrity, and the right of its members to post how and what they chose so long as it falls within the AUP (and I believe this post to be within that); that statement is not hypocrisy. Why? Because if you actually bothered the original post I wrote to snowy at all, I asked her what was wrong.

Oh.

Now go run ya fingernails at someone else.

I'm done, and re-iterate that I won't be returning to this thread in the interest of the board.

Sean.

Wow... that was a ton of reading...

This post and all subsequent threads highlights exactly why I enjoy this web forum, believe it or not.

You have a controversial subject which has inflamed some, made others laugh, caused others to agree/disagree, praise and/or insult... but, the point is, it got users posting their differing opinions, which is what I most enjoy.

This site is great for advice and for a bit of fun/joking, but it's also a great site for making me think about issues, events, topics, my opinions on a particular subject... the list goes on. It is the people who disagree with my point of view whom I learn from most because it's that disagreement that really makes me think about/examine/reflect on things.

This is one strange community but, somehow, I think it "works" and works well. There have been things said that I disagreed with but never have I let things truly upset me. And NEVER would I EVER claim there is a need for more moderation and/or censorship. There is too much of that in the "real world"... why ask for it here???

I enjoy most of the posts on this site... I hope the good ol' "regulars" keep posting but I also hope the "newbies" can come forward, stop lurking and exchange their opinions... and they should be able to do so without the fear of being moderated and/or censored. The more the merrier!

Cheers,

M. Rebekah

I have enjoyed reading this thread, though have to say that I really can't be bothered to add too much more than what has already been said as I really don't see it going anywhere, and I certainly don't expect it to be resolved in my life time.

This thread is about to reach critical mass and die a natural TSR death (unless someone starts a new thread). So, before it's death does occur, I thought I would toss this out for consideration...

Have you ever heard the term "beer muscles"?

The phenomenon of a drunk person becoming very brave, because she/he is intoxicated.

Well what we have here on TSR are "cyber muscles".

The phenomenon of people hiding behind the anonymity of the internet and becoming brazen and arrogant.

Not much you can do about it other than laugh at them and try not to let them bother you. There is no rule on TSR that says you have to have to last word or respond to every post. So, if something someone says gets your goat... walk away. I've done it many times here, will probably do it again. And, believe it or not... it feels wonderful to be free of all the angst and drama.

Besides, if we continue to feed the drama seekers, it will only continue. Which only takes away from all the good things that TSR is and can be.

Tanos (or his appointed) can either weed the drama llamas to make room for the good things that TSR is and can be to grow and flourish or not weed them and the good things that TSR is and can be will continue to walk away.

I think letting a once productive garden go to weeds is a waste. But it is his garden, his call: weeds or produce.

Having said my piece I am also bowing out of this thread.

I know you have bowed out of this thread, but in the off chance that you do happen to re-visit:

Is not everyone entitled to an opinion... no matter how stupid it may seem to you, me, someone else, everyone else, etc.?

I understand about weeding the "bad" to allow the "good" to flourish (who chooses?)... but sometimes the "bad" provide comedic relief, get users posting thoughtful replies, fosters interesting debate, allows insight into the personality of the people who log onto and post on this forum, etc.

I started a thread awhile back. To make a long story short, there was a bit of a "troll" who made some rather stupid (IMO) comments but the thread logged well over 80 comments... some of which were very, very interesting. Perhaps the thread would have been interesting without said "troll", but perhaps it wouldn't have been.

Just a thought...
