Sat 7 Jan 12, 1:21 PM lil_one_anjuli 20 mths Greetings all, I have been noticed that this forum has been less and less controlled. I also have noticed the IC forum is more active and more controlled and pretty more easy going. As someone that spends in about 5 forums of various topics and also spent in other forums but gave up such as fetlife this somewhat amaze me. All the forums need moderators and this forum by now...is pratically controlled by some users chastising the new members that post ads in the wrong place and then those ads are not moved promptly. I understand people gets busy and maybe the moderator is busy. There have been numerous situations where a moderator was indeed needed to maintain the good environment and nothing happened and it became quite chaotic, uncontrolled attacks and stones throwing, unrational posts * we are all human after all we do mistakes** and leaving users hurt and bit by bit...great posters are gone. I have been in huge drama forums such as utherverse. I never was moderator but one of my online best friends was staff moderator ( not owner ) and i do know his hard job to maintain the decency and used the right words to make a comprommise between *online rivals* in the heated debates and moving/deleting posts that were offensive. Who is the fault?? No one and everyone including the moderator or moderators. If the owner has no interest in moderating or hire someone to moderate then why maintain this forum? I know we are adults but adults sometimes act like big children and sometimes even worse than children when feelings of hatred, revenge and the politic of no mercy and no truces takes place. Suddendly at one point in the forum i found myself in a forum moderated by mere users....* long time users*, sometimes intimidating ones...shouting the usual protocol. Yes, this forum has reached to this point. Pity few realizes this reality. They are here bcs they know there is no moderation and somehow can feel the power, a way to relieve the desire to squash someone, chastise someone...all feelings of a hard life we all have * dominants and submissives*. Then there are those who uses fetlife to mock someone that is in here and not in fetlife.....That is quite coward, petty and here i am wondering....are our actions improving our lives?? I have never seen a forum like this one. This is the 1st and hopefully the last one. In all adult forums there are moderators and the environment is much more breathable. When this forum it is renewed with other users it is okay and it is pleasant ...until someone detones some bomb bcs aciddently hits the wrong key. This thread is not a critic to the owner, moderator(s) and users. Just a mere opinion. Happy 2012, hopefully we can be reach world peace and justice...but it is extremely unlikely, sadly. Perhaps a way to achieve peace...is like 096 said....care less. Sadly....for me....it is a sad way to achieve the peace. ps: in a funny note...maybe i just had hit the wrong key.... To me it seems everything is going well enough without any moderation what do you think needs moderation? Why should something be moderated if there is no need for it? When people talk having different opinions it is oonly normal to disagree. That is how a discussion evolves if we all would agree than there would be no need to discuss anything... I understand where you are coming from. I started out on IC of course but changed to here because there are more members and it seems to me more discussion about O/p which is my particular interest. I have run forums myself in the past and really, you lose interest and want to move on. If it were me I'd close this site altogether so we should be grateful to Tanos for maintaining it even if he doesn't come here often. Fetlife to me is for real enthusiasts of fetish, bdsm, munches, is extraordinarily slick and friendly but somehow misses out on O/p. As for collarme well say no more. So here I am and I really do see some interesting discussions. Things get explored here that are at the limits and that's what we are about - the limits - frontiers. I think we can handle flame without moderators. Back then it was no less or more moderated than it is now. And it was a Wwild West Show many times, complete with comy chairs and plenty of popcorn to go around. It was fist-fight ready, bitchy some, but informative and entertaining at all times. There were many truly memorable people who have gone away, and I miss them dearly. They were slaves. Dom's, Master's and Domme's alike. They started some great topics and had great advice for all. They did start fights, but that was a small part of W/who they were. It wasn't the norm. There were less slaves and more Masters/Dom's/Domme's voicing opinions then. Less slaves that ran at the mouth, were condescending, talked highly about other sites, and of one opinion....their own. The slaves showed respect and didn't bite the forum that fed them. Or at least....rarely. There were less Marie Antoinette's back then. Conversations could easily get heated, but many times they were shifted to memo's when things got out of control. I believe a private memo is the best way when 2 or 3 people get nasty. I believe that: No slave's opinion takes precidence over the other's. No slave is right to assume their opinion is THE opinion. No slave has the right to dictate a forum's policies, or it's Owners'. There's a phrase about not letting a door hit you in the...well....look it up. If some o/p takes offense to these statements, that is guilt rearing it's ugly head. Feel free to memo. (see number 1) 3) The boards would fill up with posts like: "I don't understand why the moderator deleted my post"... in other words, greatly increasing the white noise. 4) Moderation is not scalable in a site even this size. 5) It is easy enough to ignore posts and people. Of course, it would be nice to have a means of automatically doing so but it doesn't take too much effort to say: "Oh that is Profile_X... I won't even bother to read it" 6) The very nature of the Internet means that for every 1 interesting thing you find there will be 99 items that are disturbing, ridiculous, pompous, threatening, stupid, silly, or spammy. 7 Jan 12, 7:59 PM naughtyslave US, 2 yrs anjuli may i ask what has got your panties bunched now? lol jk i don't understand why you are concerned with this again.The boards have been over the top calm... Why should he hire someone to babysit a site that most people are setting up camp for free? If you are going to call someone out at fet for what ever reason,why not say who you are talking about so that this person might defend themselves against judgement? Why the mystery? There is a choice being made by each and every person each day they log in...you have the right to not come here...you have the right to not take part in any discussion....you have the right to delete your profile and never look back...you have the right as an adult to take part in every other site on the net besides this one...OR.... you have the choice to stay here and enjoy what one Man has created for the benefit of others to enjoy at no cost to you. you have the choice to stay and become involved in a community that might be mean on some days and supportive on others...the choice is truly up to each individual that has used this registry for their own needs at the cost of the Owner of the site.
