I've always regarded Master with the same type of hero worship a young child has in regard to their father. A big, strong figure who can do anything, knows everything and keeps the monsters away. To me, Master is a big, strong man who knows everything, can do anything and keeps the monsters away from me. That's all I need to know and all that matters.
It's one thing to try and pretend that something is what it is not and quite another to see it exactly for what it is and still find it worthy of adoration. I have no problem putting him on a pedestal. Since I'm the one who puts him there, if he should happen to fall off of it, I just put him back again. I use the terms Master(male) & slave(female) because that is who we are. Insert all possible disclaimers - my thoughts, my opinions, my experiences, my words. Your mileage should vary. I'm one of "those people." Above all - I believe in Master.

That is beautiful, 096! And also exactly what Adela does for me. I do not take it for granted and know that I can actually show fear, or sadness, or whatever around her and that it will not affect her perception of me. It is both humbling and ego-boosting. |

096 you have articulated that beautifully.
The idea of a measuring stick for intelligence has come up. My measuring stick is quite simple, I have it with me always, because it is the measure of myself. He must simply be more than I know myself to be. Brighter, braver, more worldly, more able to see the bigger picture, both in our relationship, our community, our country, and the world.
For me, in all circumstances that one can interact with D-types - on TSR, FL, munches, in real life, etc, it is easy to spot the 'Masters' - not because they have an s-type and show her around, but in that they Master themselves. In the guilds of older times, you worked a lifetime and had to prove your solid intelligence, ability and knowledge of the craft to become a Master. When I call Him Master, this is how I use the term. It is not just a nod and a bow to His dominion over me, but of His entire stature.
rhua, very lucky to be ruled by a man who is ALL of these things He is the Artist, my flesh His canvas; His dominance, my submission; His intelligence/knowledge/experience, my ability to learn; His strength, my flexibility. I am a work in progress, being recreated by a Master Craftsman.

Wow, I like that. You always know what to say, 096. I could say the same thing about my owner -- he is the knight in shining armor who is willing to slay the monsters that threaten me. For that I adore him. Owned, loved and protected by Prolixity.

To Saphire.
I had finally the time to read about Asperger. I went 1st internet then some books i had about music therapy and so on.
I was appalled that Mozart had Asperger symptoms....well whoever the psychiatrist said that...i can say Mozart hasnt a single sympthom of Asperger and never read his biography or his letters to his mother.
I finally understand a bit about you...can never understand fully bcs i do not know you.
Just because i like to philosophize ...pardon me if it is off topic.
I can see why you give so much importance to intelligence. It is basically your only scale as far as i can understand.
Going to Mozart he can NOT have asperger for the simple fact he was known for liking the pampering from ladies and shows extreme empathy to mother, sister, his 1st lover and finally his wife. Aspies are unable to feel, to feel what others are feeling, to have emotions and so on.
Also Asperger tend to be very accurate in numbers and finances and Mozart was known for extreme debts and poor understanding about money and he died in completely misery without money for his own burial and was buried in a common grave....such a sad destiny for someone that was clearly a genious composer.
Another sympthom is that Aspies like to be comfortable and do just the useful thing. Mozart was extremely vain, proud, extremely sarcastic and comic, doing comic positions on piano, showing off his skills. He would buy clothes, ornaments and that would only worsen his house finances.
However i do think Asperger is out of question to Mozart he was known to have awkhard social attitudes in public. It is a fact. He was childish and very very cheeky ...only forgiven because he was genious at that time, otherwise he would be banned from society for sure.
I am not sure how they diagnose a child with Asperger. Does the child need to meet all the symptoms i have read? Not sure. But in the case of Mozart he fails in soooo many sympthoms that i was appalled at their ignorance.
The fact someone was genious doesnt mean that someone must have some kind of particular autism.
I do think Beethoven is far more closer to Asperger than Mozart...however he was extremely emotional....but he was the only composer to have profits, contrary to mozart.
Beethoven special autism in the end of his life is attributed to his gradual deafness. Just to agree with Dagobert remarks, most of pianists have a very solitary life. We practice 8-12 hours alone in a piano...facing a wall * if we are at university*. During this time we do not see anyone and when we finish studies we are too tired to socialize. So if this is a normal day for a pianist , many years of this kind of life...only will give awkward social attitudes and isolation. I know some pianists, including myself that never never looks someone eye to eye. It is considered rude for common people...but to us...is...just normal.
Before i was identified as middle deaf, i didnt talk, i dindt socialize although i could dance and play piano and there was a suspicion i was autistic.
Deafness was completely out of question in doctor's mind bcs it is usual that deaf people has no balance when walking in line. I did have that balance so i failed their symptom...hence why it took long for them to make my diagonistic.
This does not happen with other instruments bcs they are made to play with orchestras and therefore interactions and empathy are absolutely necessary.
Nowadays with computers, ipods, ps3 and so on i do think everyone is getting lil by lil more autistic.
The kids nowadays instead playing outside ball or games they play computer games.
At the airport no one talks with the neighbour....they just take out the damn ipad and play themselves or watch a movie. They barely look at the plane staff and there is no thank you, please, this or that.
Not everything is black or white. You may think that way but it is not. And amazingly I feel that you quite understand my sarcasm or my *beetween lines* meaning but other times you take too radically your ideas. I just smiled at your adoration to your Master....but my guess * you may correct me* Your adoration is based on the intellectual side....since Asperger are not supposed to feel adoration or any kind of feeling but with time they intellectualize the emotions.
An interesting person you are, Saphire . Indeed knowing this wonderful gift i should change the way i reply or interact with you.
My music history teacher's ( and also my friend) child was autistic and one day become obssessed with music and she invited me to be his teacher. I deal with all his phobias with the cabs and screaming attitudes. I do not know if he has Asperger or what kind of autism he had. I may ask my teacher as soon as i see her in my messenger.

lil_one_anjuli,
Actually, I will NOT pardon you for this weird diatribe. Seems to me if you want to spout your newly discovered internet information about a particular syndrome, you - and the person you *think* you are describing would be better off if you privately memo'd them.
I would be PISSED if I were Saphira.
No one minds a little derail, but this is way too bizarre, even for you.

Or.... you are pissed about everything i say?
i have done this kind of posts since i am here and no one has ever attacked me!!! So another situation like the stupid thread?? Sounds like it.
As far as i know Saphira was the one who brought this issue and said i should not comment if i have never read the Asperger....since i have done my homework i came here in peace and told my views about it.
In fact it was Saphira's choice to tell us her specific detail as well it was my choice to share my specific detail.
Again....i would recommend you to think what really piss you off. Is it just me...or just this post? Otherwise it is just the same evilness that spreads in this forum....running wildly in the veins
