Allergic Reactions
Well... not sure how to start this, so if it gets a bit rambly... sorry folks.
I have very sensitive skin... so sensitive it seems that I can't seem to find a collar to wear that does not end up with me in some sort of horrific rash state within a few hours of putting it on.
All metal is out... I have tried copper, sterling silver, gold, platinum, titanium, stainless steel... anything nickle coated is absolute torture.
I have tired wearing leather... and I am good for about 4 days... then the rash starts and by the end of the week it is a blistery, bloody mess. I have tried covering the leather with cotton, and again... lasts a little longer then the rash is back. I tried taking breaks... alternate days... still ended up with a rash... just took longer to start... but once is started... it was full blown nastiness in no time.
I have tried glass, my first collar was glass beads and that seemed to work except for the metal clasp and a few metal beads. Only problem is water... seems there is a reaction between my skin, the glass and the water it comes in contact with and voila... rash.
I have tried plastic, vinyl, latex and a few others similar type materials that I don't know the name of... and again... rash... the gawd awful rash.
I have had piercings, but the infections and rashes... well when the came out for my surgery last fall... I am in no rush to put them back as I am still dealling with an ongoing infection.
I thought about being branded until I accidently burnt myself in a similar way to a brand and well... 500 dollars worth of antibiotics later kinda killed that idea.
I have thought about a tattoo... but I am concerned that the ink going into my skin will result in a nasty infection... and quite frankly I am rather finished with dealing with any more infections for a while.
So... here's my question... does anyone have any suggestions for a collar material that I can wear, even for the short-term, that will not cause me to have an over the top allergic reaction?
Right now I would be happy to tie a string around my finger if I thought that would work.

That is what I do as well... use clear nail polish... not so great if there is lots of metal... but great for backs of watches and things like that.
I am having a hive fest as I write... started this morning... it is sooooooooo annoying. Even my eyeballs itch. Your problem appears to be allergies not the material, so maybe a trip to the specialist and get those allergies fixed. Yes they can be fixed as I have found myself as I was allergic to any fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, soap powders with enzimes and lactose intollerant. They were my nightmare but now I have fixed many through a spacialist or have found ways around my allergies. Look to a medical way to overcome and don't put up with the discomfort. slave armyboi

Greetings if you cannot wear anything against your skin, maybe you could wear something in your hair to mark you as his. He could physically place it in or around your hair eg pony tail or a hair slide/clip. good luck |

Hello darling!
I also suffer the same problem and after discussions with Master having my pink leather collar giving me sad red bumps on my neck, we decided on furry lining. It was of course my responsibility, but Master helped me choose the material and I then painstakingly sewed the blue furry material on to my leather collar. Now my collar is comfy and doesn't give me a rash!
Also, today we talked about outside collars that can look "dressy" and lol "vanilla" - hehe - and Master suggested black velvet. Velvet (or other soft materials) works wonderfully with no rashes...and I'm going to make a set of different coloured ones to wear out. You can get stick on velcro or the iron-on stuff and then that means you can take it off easily too.
I hope that helps!

Hi
I am sorry to not leave a longer reply, and my apologies for not having read the full replies, so if someone has already told you about us, feel free to ignore me
The reason we started Wyred Slave is because I can't wear anything either... it almost feels like just looking at metal sets my skin off, so we spent a lot of time finding materials that I can wear 24/7, were able to lock and looked great.
We do have locking metal collars that can be worn by people with very bad metal allergies, and have even designed an Engraved Metal Slave Tag that is non-allergenic too.
A couple of our previous customers are more than happy to help if you need any reassurance, and if you have any questions just email me on enquiries@wyredslave.com or you can check out our website.
And even if you don't like our styles, I do hope you find what you're looking for
Best wishes

As a customer of Wyred Slave I would like to say that their collars are brilliant!!! I have two (one i only wear on special occassions) and the other (with an Erica tag - the non allergenic one) is worn all the time - and i suffer really badly with a nickle allergy. I only need to look at the stuff and i come out in an awful rash but i am pleased to say that i suffer no rash or itchiness with this collar and its the ONLY one i have ever been able to wear that has done that for me. The whole collar is wrapped in a PVC coating and the tag and fastening at the back is all made of stainless steel which doesn't rub or cause any problems. I was amazed when my Owner put it on me that it did not need to be removed and bar x-rays and medical proceedures it never comes off now.
I hope you and your Master take a look at their site - both Lorii and her Master are very helpful and will answer any queries you or He may have. Plus they don't take too long to ship them out either!!!
Good luck with finding a collar suitable for everyday wear.
