I also love snakes, used to have a collection of them, from Corns right upto my favourite Columbian Boa Constrictor (Bonnie, 7ft long, loved a cuddle, not strangling me, she loved to be held); had 17 snakes in total. No choice but to dispose of them during my first divorce.

I have friends who have had boas etc. I can actually sit in the same room now with them as long as they are no where near me. Mind you, being in the same room usually involves imbiding in a few so... ;)

But I guess my phobia has to be..eye operations; I've had many operations, and some of those have been under local anaesthetic - quite happily sat or laid there and watched or felt them do the job. I can quite happily watch operations on TV, been present through veterinary operations, so it's not that I'm squeamish..

..eyes though? YUCK! I had to deal with it though, because I a bi-lateral squint tightened (and the bloody thing needs re-doing)

Oh, I totally relate to you on this!!! I too have had eye surgeries, 3 in all and hate anything near my eyes. I don't now if it's a phobia or just a necessary evil that I try not to think about when possible. One thing though, they Have to give me a general, no local for this girl when it comes surgery on the eyes. :(

Needles now, that's an altogether different story, one I didn't even mention... hahaha

i have phobia of needles and all insects ( including butterflies)where they are inside of a closed room. When the insect is in nature i am okay with all of them...with a small yuck to BIG spiders.

About the needles i was worried bcs this interferes directly with SM play.

Before i submitted to Master i told Him my phobia...and i was lucky because He said He was not into needles either. BINGO!!!! I found my ideal Master!. With this means...i am excused to do tattos and piercings....although i do have earrings...but they were made when i was baby LOL.

Master consoles me a lot when i do have to go thru the needles for health reasons...and i am willing to train myself with the help of Master ( He was a nurse before) in controlling this fear....but i trust Master He will never use my phobia to scare me or threat me.

As for insects lolz...while i will run out of the room and the house....i guess it is rather fun for some people....but...really i cannot kill any insect or get close to them if i am in a room closed lolz. It is clearly...it is me or IT......but i am out!!!!!!!!!!

I told my psychologist about this phobia....of why it is just inside rooms and not in nature...and he said it is a variant of the phobia of persecution. This one i very much doubt i want to be trained at all....but heh...i will do as Master wish.

i'm very glad this came up, because i've been thinking of asking about this myself. i was never afraid of shots or giving blood, and when Sir took a class on needle play i thought it was cool. When it came time to actually do some play piercings i found myself phobic. i like the sight of the needle once its in, and i can run thread through it to string things on, but i can't stand the knowing its going to happen. We've found the best thing is to do it quick, which takes some of the fun out of it for Him but its the best i can do. Currently we're working on doing other things with the alcohol so the smell of that doesnt send me into a panic, and He unwraps the needles first so i don't hear it and panic, but i'd like anyone elses thoughts and input.

I can do spiders... just.... not cos i like them, i dont... but the little ones that are minding their own business and keeping the flies at bay are fine. Big ones... urgh, no, no way, never.

The little ones are only allowed cos they dont hurt me, so i dont hurt them (cant promise the cat won't have a go though... He's quite partial to the odd arachnid)... Besides, there's nothing nicer than seing a beautiful web covered on dew or frost first thing in a morning :-)

Crocodiles on the other hand... wrong... wrong... wrong...

Have you seen those things? *shudder* Machines of nastiness so great they have survived since the Dinosaurs... I'm kinda in awe and kinda horrified at the same time. My mind goes a bit mushy at the fact they have never evolved... thats how brilliant they are...

Eyes make me feel a bit icky, but someone dear to me had one removed and i was primary carer, so had many happy hour cleaning inside of her eye socket and faffing with drops etc :-) ... n i want my eyes lasering or lens implants so i can see... so while it makes me feel a bit wobbly, i can cope.

Be who you are. Want what you have. Do what you can.
'Come to the edge' He said. 'I'm afraid' she said. 'Come to the edge' He said. She came, He pushed her and she flew...

im with Sean here, i like.. no really.. love spiders & snakes lol. my oldest did her senior project on herpetology so for months all our life consisted of was snakes, salamanders, toads, peepers..etc. i dont have a phobia but i am afraid of life. sounds weird i know but i always here people say they are afraid of dying, im afraid of living.. dying is peace, no worries. well, anyways, anyone with fears of creepy crawlies or slithery somethings can just shoo them over to my way :)

PS. this will make y'all laugh if youre in the states and had problems with the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug this summer, i set up a habitat for them to survive the winter.. big ol plant for them to hang out on and a shotglass of water down in the soil for them to drink. if one wanders my kids will yell "mom.. one of your pets is loose, come get it" or Master will pop His head around a corner & say "get it now before it gets flushed" lol

the sting of His whip~ the welts from His crop~ the warmth of His kiss~ the click of the lock~ assures me i am His most cherished possession..

As long as I don't see it I'm fine. Doctors, dentist even pricking the finger for blood isn't good if I see it. Seeing others get them, fine, for me.... not happening.

I suppose this might send a lotta people running for the nearest closet, back to the boat, or cast back away to the safety of summer camp, but for me, I love spiders; had this plan to get a Bird Eater at one point, and they grow to a staggering 8 or 9 inches across.

Sean... you're in the UK. I am too.... please please please tell me you're not one of my neighbours!

My ex-brother-in-law used to keep Tarantulas which meant I could never stay at his house... even staying for a cuppa was a nightmare. He came down to mine at one point, and bought one from our local pet shop. Something with pink knees and lots of fur. I stayed at my parents house that night!

Conversely, love snakes, although not enough to keep any. We went to Gatorland when we went to the States and while I was happy to hold a baby I wouldn't want to own one.

Along with Baked Beans and Custard does anyone have any phobias that you feel a but silly explaining to people. I've heard of 'buttons' but now I know my daughter hates beans it's made me curious to see what other odd ones there might be.

I've never had any problems with bugs and i like snakes which has created an interesting dilemma. i have a 4.5 foot corn snake, my daughter has a ball python and Sir has a snake phobia. Ever since i got my corn snake (ok, i took it from a homeless guy who was seriously mistreating it) Sir has been working hard at overcoming His snake phobia. Can't have ones slave be braver and all that.

I'm not a fan of spiders, but if they aren't in my way, I leave them alone.... Master has a phobia of moths for some odd reason, even though they're harmless. Me personally; I *hate* teabags, especially wet, used ones. No idea why, possibly the strangest phobia... :)

I have a strong phobia of fire since I am very young, due to a fire in my house and I am now unable to light a candle or to do anything related to fire. At first I lied to my Master about this phobia because I felt guilty ( it was the worst thing to do and I have never lied to him anymore )but it hurt so much. Now he knows and he helps me the most he can to deal with this phobia. I know he will never use fire as a punishment but will help me not to fear it. Master used to love "playing" with hot wax with his former slaves but he assures me that we will begin it only when I will be more than ready. We have a lot of work to do together to make the the psychological wound of the fire go away but I trust him and I know I will be able maybe to lost this phobia. I hope all of you to be able one day to be stronger than your phobia :)

I hope you won't mind about my mistakes in English and I apologize for it.
