He has fauded many fetlifer's such as myself. There are discussion groups on fetlife.com (under SWAMP Bristol) and discussions you can follow, which show many people buying items since May 2010 with still no item or refund. Each time Richard does comment he states he will get in touch with people and barely does. Or he promises a refund and does not. PLEASE WARN EVERYONE NOT TO PURCHASE FROM HIM, OR DO CASH ON DELIVERY AS OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT SEE A CENT OR ITEM!!! I am sorry if you have been defrauded by this individual but...The AUP on this site does state: "Flaming" Robust debate is a feature of many adult internet environments. However, you may not use TSR to make verbal attacks on other named users, and falsely attributing statements or actions to other people, especially when presented as direct quotations, is totally unacceptable. I am not sure of his current state of health or the level of back orders he has to plough through but can confirm he is certainly not a fraud and I know many who have ordered his excellent Jewellery and been extremely pleased. http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/posts/294131/ I understand the anger generated when one feels they have been defrauded but one person starting a thread on a website causes people with more spare time than forethought to start malicious rumour campaigns that do not help at all. Richard has advised many of us that he has been ill and had relationship breakdowns, however several people have been waiting since May 2010 (before the illness and breakdown) to recieve their items/contact/refund and yet to hear from him. He keeps stating he will refund or contact people but has yet to do so with many of his outstanding customers. It is not just myself but many of us who have ordered and paid for jewellery in good faith, and have not received a dime/contact/item for a long time. (See fetlife as stated for more views other than my own). Patience has now run out, and we want to warn future buyers as some have tried to to purchase recently and we wish they had known better... No way are we encouraging dispersions on the quality of his jewellery, but we are still waiting to see it (or the refund we were promised a long time ago)... tia tia *Property of Sir James* 10 Jan 11, 10:52 AM tia1982 AU, 2 yrs On a side note we understand he may have been ill (as per the link) but maybe someone needs to update his website to state he is not accepting orders at this point in time, and get in contact with existing customers to explain. No contact and no item does make one assume some kind of fraud, particularly after several international calls/voicemails, emails and messages on fetlife without an outcome... And as stated we are one of many... They will charge back the vendor for non delivery. I always buy online with credit card, as this seems to offer the greatest protection for the consumer. The one time I was stiffed by an online vendor, I got my money back from CC company within a month. 10 Jan 11, 11:06 AM tia1982 AU, 2 yrs Not so worried about the money (30 pounds) it's just the ethic. I don't doubt that this is a rough state of affairs, but since when is it fraud to be ill? Do you have physical proof that he's not? Further, relationship breakdowns can take months before they come into fruition and become public knowledge, or the people involved begin to let people know what's going on, and why they haven't been able to handle trheir normal daily business. Of course, I could be wrong, talking through my teeth and lying out of my backside, but then I'm getting divorced and have been ill with many a complaint for years. Please think before using the term fraud again. I simply think it was harsh, and in that respect, whilst it's true that you're owed (or were owed) money like others, and yes, the ethic is there, what about the ethic of that poor bloke's life being in tatters around him and you simply carpin' on over £30. Is his business is administration, has he gone bankrupt, does the business have funds to pay everyone all at the same time? You obviously have all the answers wrapped up in that one word, which with no apology is pretty awful, because with it, goes a man's reputation too. Please make sure you can prove what you're saying (that his actions are indeed fraudulent), before you make such an allegation. Forming a lynching or pressure group won't help matters will it? In any case, use a credit card for protection during any purchase over the internet; but that's just standard good practice. If anyone is on fetlife I do suggest you have a look under the groups 'Birmingham Bizzare Bazzar' and 'SWAMP Bristol' and you will see pages of people who have been waiting up to a year with no contact, no item, no money. He keeps promising refunds or that he will contact people and does not. He also failed to deliver before his illness too (as per other people's experiences). Maybe I am wrong and he does have the funds but for some reason can't get organised to get himself or a friend refund about 30+ customers from the past year... It is a shame, his stuff does look beautiful... tia *Property of Sir James*
