i see kris2010 deleted her profile. This makes me sad because she was just asking for a bit of advice or insight. :(

I am in full agreement with you! She deleted it on her birthday (Sat.). Ridicule and lectures are not a nice present to receive, when she was looking for support. I don't blame her for leaving under the circumstances and yes, it is sad.

i would also like to remind "some" that English is not everyone's first language. i don't know about kris2010, but a bit of slack wouldn't be so bad.

I have to say, trying to communicate in another language is extremely difficult. I'm American learning Dutch and the sentence structure alone is maddening. It gets very frustrating constantly being corrected. Hopefully, she'll try us again.

I hope she finds her way but I do have to say that her sentence structure did not appear to be from a non-native speaker. I build software that archives publicly available forums (not this one though, don't worry! :-) ) and I see this sort of gibberish all the time: no capitalization, run on sentences, blatant disregard for the differences between your, you're, its, it's, etc... It kind of makes me sick to my stomach, especially when it comes from an adult.

Sure, we all have made some of the mistakes above but when it is consistent it is nauseating and quite frankly I stop reading anything after the second or third abortion of the language.

I am the proud owner of dagoberts_cunt. She lives to serve me in all ways until the end of her days.

It's a dreadful thing, to think that someone (specifically the OP in this case) deleted their profile because of something I wrote. I feel ashamed.

If kris should come back to read this; I am very sorry for causing you distress with regards 'proper grammar' and I hope you reconsider rejoining this site. There are some wonderful people here.

I am also sorry to those I offended likewise. Thank you for the kick - shamefully, I needed it.

Did I miss something?

Where does the OP state that they deleted their profile because of comments about grammar?

Its the assumption... it is not stated anywhere that is the cause. Nor is it anywhere that the person is from another country when their profile says they are from the US.

Regardless, if the person did indeed leave because of that, then i apologize.

Hi 685, welcome back!

Sorry to hear about your relationship - I hope you have good people to talk to about this and help you build your confidence back up.
