threat of airport scanning machines (43)
This post is on the M/s D/s O&P web board.

i have not been active on this site for quite a while so i am not sure if this topic has been discussed. The naked full body scanning machines are being put in use at many airports in the USA and other other countries. The effectiveness of these and the potential health issues are topics for another post. i am only concerned about the privacy issues. Body jewelry in intimate piercings, chastity devices, and who knows what else, worn by many slaves and submissives will be exposed by these machines. The TSA agents are unlikely to let such things pass without comment. There was a case i read about in the recent past of a woman who was forced to remove nipple rings with borrowed pliers before she was allowed to board her flight. In another report a film celebrity was subjected to heavy-handed treatment including nude examination. i have to conclude such incidents fall into the "not necessary but possible" category. The latest from Napolitano is "Scans, Hands or Fines." i.e. cooperate or suffer. We as a community prefer to remain unnoticed. As individals we will do what we must or what our Masters allow. What's the reaction of the community to this intrusion? Edited Tue 16 Nov 10, 3:06 AM by 240-169-649

There are those in airport security who will interpret the rules to suit their purposes (ie. asking person to remove piercings or invasive searches). As you travel, you will notice that the enforcement of security measures will vary based on loction and the person doing the security check. Some people and places are very strict, others are more lax. There will always be those that push things to the extreme and abuse their powers. It is unfortunate that these things happen, but they do.
If you are concerned about your privacy and drawing unwanted scrutiny from airport security, then minimize the opportunities for scrutiny. Do not wear chastity devices as you travel or other insertable items. Remove your piercings if you are that concerned. Most airports have a brochure that tells you how to get through airport security with minimum delays... get a copy and follow it.
My experience has been that matters only proceed to the extreme when authority is challenged and the person being challenged has to prove a point. For example, my Inspector was once barred from her flight concerning a disagreement with airport security over a hair comb. While she had significant rank in a national police agency, the lowly airport security person exercised their considerable muscle in saying... regardless of who you are, you are not getting on that flight with that prohibited item. "With courage you will dare to take risks, have the strength to be compassionate, and the wisdom to be humble. Courage is the foundation of integrity." ~ Keshavan Nair

Personally, I don't see this is an "intrusion" specific to any one community or lifestyle. The same words could be said by almost anyone walking down the street.
slaves and subs have not cornered the market on piercings or other body jewellery. People in every walk of life have them and other things under their clothes. Not everyone is made to remove peircings or body jewellery.
Believe it or not, TSA agents have encountered pretty much anything and everything day in and day out. As the scanners become more common place, I think that the controversy surrounding them will die down, especially if it proves to speed up the wait times through the security area. In my opinion anyways.
Enjoy your evening.

Most of the security at Airports are feel good programs. Most of the people who get those TSA jobs are less qualified than the security guard who rides around the parking at Wal-Mart with a flashing light on the roof of a Toyota. These are make-work jobs for lower class people with very few employment skills.I can envision these rent-a-cops getting their jollies fondling innocent men and women. They could make a side-show out of finding piercings and or chastity devices. All this security represses good people and political correctness keeps the real Police from tracking down our enemies.Living an alternative lifestyle(a term that I dislike)isn't a crime.Harmless families traveling don't need to get shook down.I have the perfect example of this abuse of power without using common sense.I was at an Airport waiting for a friend's plane to arrive, after I finally got through security(I had a tiny piece of gum wrapper in the bottom of my pocket, practically causing a melt-down)I witnessed 3 elderly Roman Catholic Nuns trying to get through security. The security fools wouldn't allow the Nuns to proceed into the waiting area if they didn't remove their Crosses.A Nun never removes her cross. So there were 3 elderly Nuns in tears, finally a U.S.Federal Agent came and let them through. All this feel good security is a joke.I realize that I'll get flamed for writing this but I work near an Airport and see the mentality of these people keeping us "safe" everyday. hi all, i dont like it but it is what it is.i have a frenum piercing fixed in me, & wear a steel chastity device.i wouldnt try to fly with it,it certainly interrups that lifestyle tradition.i used to fly years ago for a co.before 9-11 & the metal lace loops in my shoes would trigger the alarm.i didnt like the process then, dont fly now unless absolutely have to.credit to those who do for their jobs now. at some point it willlevel out to a unifom system i hope.

i personally would walk for days before going through airport security these days. i copied this from an article i read today....
----------
("The scanners show a body's contours on a computer stationed in a private room removed from the security checkpoints. A person's face is never shown and the person's identity is supposedly not known to the screener reviewing the images. Under TSA rules, those who decline must submit to pat-downs that include checks of the inside of travelers' thighs and buttocks.
Top federal officials said Monday that the procedures are safe and necessary sacrifices to ward off terror attacks.
"It's all about security," Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said. "It's all about everybody recognizing their role.")
--------
ok so "supposedly" the travelers identity is not know or face shown. yeah, like everyone follows the rules (eye roll)
if you dont want to be subjected to low level radiation or the chance that the screener CAN identify you and may be a old friend or some perv that slipped through the governments wonderful background checks (that was sarcastic) well then you can choose a pat down. Ok, so now they can use open hands and fingers, and touch anywhere --from the front of the crotch to all the way around to the back. as the article states.. "include checks of the inside of travelers' thighs and buttocks"
my question to dear old Janet Napolitano is..
how would you feel watching some stranger either looking at the intimate contours, or feeling up private places of a young child who just wants to get on the plane & go see Mickey Mouse?
i know this kinda got off the track of screeners seeing this or that pierced into or wrapped around whatever body part but i really think someone finding out a nipple is pierced is a whole lot less of an issue than the actual degradation the government puts people through especially when it comes to minors as passengers. whats in store for us in ten years.. strip searches??
wow. all that & i didnt even have coffee today lol
the sting of His whip~
the welts from His crop~
the warmth of His kiss~
the click of the lock~
assures me i am His most cherished possession..

Years ago I used to remove my body jewelry before every flight until one day I forgot to and lo and behold none of it was picked up by the metal detector. Since that day I have kept in all piercings and have never had the stupid machine squawk at me. Forgetting to take my laptop out of its bag or god forbid putting my shoes on top of the laptop are things that will get the TSA scrambling but the tiny amount of metal in even the largest gauge piercing doesn't seem to even register. Your mileage may vary. I am the proud owner of dagoberts_cunt. She lives to serve me in all ways until the end of her days.

For Me, this is the last straw.
I already have to get to an airport many hours early.
Most of My work is within driving distance, and, being paid to commute to the airport, sit and wait on line, then sit in a plane for hours, it's cheaper for the client for Me to Drive to the jobsite. DarkSado

Ok guys...let's stop the panic. I've never had a problem with my piercings through security, and I've travelled with a suitcase full of uniforms and toys and not encountered a single raised eyebrow or comment (I've also never had a problem getting my lighter on board either!). And let's be honest how many of us (myself included) have bodies that these guys are gonna be taking mental images of for use later? These people are professionals, and have seen it all before anyway.
When I used to be a nurse, looking after the elderly, people used to ask me how I dealt with all the piss & shit I used to have to deal with everyday and my answer always was you get to a point where you don't see it as piss or shit anymore, it just is, and it's the same for these guys. You get to a point where what you see becomes so everyday that you don't see it anymore. As I say these are a group of professionals not a bunch of high school jocks. Yes, you are going to get the odd bad apple, you do in every profession, but they are going to be a rarity. And in todays climate there's more of a chance of a terrorist smuggling something on board than there is of some pervert ogling my bloated belly and flat arse. Remember we have to get it right everytime, they just have to get it right once.
After the 7/7 bombings people in London were complaining at the number of stop and searches they had to go through. My thoughts were I'd rather be late in this life than early in the next. I have nothing to hide so why should I object to being searched? And in my mind the good of the many outweighs the good of the one. In human liberties there are going to be situations that arise where there are conflicts of interest and the governments need to decide what is the lesser of 2 evils, we're not always going to like or agree with decisions, but hey nobody said life was fair.
People talk about the invasion of their rights, well what about my right to know that when I leave home that I'll get to my destination and home again safely. People complain there is no choice, there is. You can agree to a pat down, or don't use that mode of transport. My name is Lord Uther, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!

Yup, got a lighter on the plane going one way this summer but they wouldn't let me take it going back cause it is refillable. Go figure.
I also got pulled aside on the return segment to have my hands scanned for explosives... hahaha, I asked what it was for, she told me, I said cool, ok... a lot of these things are random. I certainly do not look like I play with or carry explosives around but then neither do a lot of people that DO play with explosives and try to get them on planes.
If I can drive fine but I have no problems flying and know that security are just doing their jobs trying to keep everyone safe. 333-528-841
