permanent collar question (17)
This post is on the O&P web board.

My Mistress gave me my training collar last week. She also showed me my permanent collar. She said that when She puts my permanent collar on, She will be putting a lock on it also. She sounded that the lock is ver important. i was wondering why is the lock so important.
i was afraid to ask, but Lord Uther said i should ask. i am new and i know i sound very stupid at times but i do want to learn. i want to please my Owner but sometimes this is hard because i still have this stubborn streak in me. |

I'm not sure if I'm right on this, but this has been what I've gathered on the importance of a lock on a collar. The lock signified the ownership as well as permanence. It is something that makes it evident that your Master/Mistress/Owner has total control over you. They are the only one to put the collar on you and to take it off of you. They hold the key to the collar and taking it on and off is out of your hands. Does that make sense? ~I am Coco, the collared slave girl and kitty owned by her Master/Daddy~

You should ask your mistress about this. I'm sure many here will speculate but your mistress can give you the best answer on why a locking collar is important to her.
Also, just a side note and observation:

Many believe that collars should be earned and not simply given. To say "when she puts my permanent collar on..." sounds presumptuous to me. The way you describe them here it seems these are being regarded as simple objects or toys. I realize you may not mean it the way it sounds but I thought I would throw this out there for you to consider since you are new and learning.
All my personal opinion based solely on the information you've provided... and all meant in a friendly, helpful manner. To avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, be nothing.

Just to play devils advocate here, assuming her Mistress used the word 'when', it could also signify her Mistresses confidence in her that she will achieve that goal...just my two-penneth worth. My name is Lord Uther, king of kings:

sorry, She is making me earn my permanent collar. She has never used a training collar before but realized that i needed one, so She gave me one. Actually W/we both love me being collared. it gives Her some pride, while giving me the security i need. |

The Collar in My Home
After lengthy email and phone conversations for a few months, my slave comes for an inspection, usually a week or two. If he is acceptable, he is then sent back to prepare his life for permanent enslavement, being given about 2 months to sell everything, and arrive back at my front door kneeling and completely nude.
Anything he brings with him becomes my property. He signs a receipt handing over all of his possessions, signs a Power of Attorney handing over all control of his financial and medical decisions to me, and a detailed "Slave Contract" which is merely an agreement of informed consent (being that slavery is illegal) to the living and relationship arrangement he is about to enter into.
The slave is collared with a lock attached. I let him know that the distinctive "clink" of the lock defines the exact moment when he transitions from a human to non-human property for the rest of his life. His first order from me is to destroy the only keys for the lock, and I hand him a hammer to destroy them and then to flush them in the toilet
By the way, this does not mean that I will own him for life. As with any property, he can be traded, sold or auctioned away, but he will never be free again. This is made very clear before he arrives for the inspection; if he becomes untrainable, he is given away (perhaps to an extreme S/m Master) never to return, but never freed. As such, when I shop for a potential slave, I look for someone with a deep desire to serve and please others, not just someone wanting to play BdSm games and likes my stats.
So, in my home, a slave earns the collar by being ready to serve as property for life. It's not a game, but a significant moment in life, and unlike a wedding ring, there is no turning back, just a future where the slave fully determines its quality of life based on the quality of its servitude.

Property i can understand, but how do you get the *non-human* part? Is there some ritual that strips humanity?
To my 'playing at BdSm' ears, it kinda sounds like an erotic novel gone wrong....
Especially the them handing over the receipts and whatnot. You have a lot to gain from that and wont even give them the security of a life-long commitment (though who would want to commit to something that wasnt human?)
Im sure your slaves enjoy the lack of.....everything.
@OP - Collars have symbolic worth within the community, but how much in particular they are worth depends on the Master/Mistress involved, as there are some who wont even use a collar. Goodluck with earning your permanent one. |

i have to agree with bastets_daughter. Sounds like a poorly thought out fantasy. Although i do not have access to the key, MacCain keeps it safe. While i was carrying his son my collar had to be removed briefly for unforeseen medical reasons. Had the key been destroyed... the collar would have to be destroyed to remove it.
You can usually tell the fantasists by the fact they don't actually have what they are talking about. Must sound really good to whisper to themselves while they lay alone at night.
In response to the OP. In the MacCain household, he keeps the key- The collar is a symbol i'm owned, the keeper of the key is who owns me.
So i guess in the fantasy depiction that was described, the slave would be an unowned slave after destroying the key. Huh?

I am curious how you maintain ongoing consent in this type of relationship, because once revoked (and it can be revoked as slavery is illegal)... you have nothing. I might add that I am aware of the concept of consent non-consensual, but even in these relationships the slave is always free to leave.
I must say, you have a pretty good scam going if you have your slave(s) sign over their assets to you without any provision for their long-term care, or are those assets transfered with the slave when they are sold, given away or otherwise disposed of.
Having read several of your posts now, I am beginning to think you are a fantasist... the weekend gamster, wannabe, player that you accuse many of us here of being.
Given that you are currently searching for a slave, I would guess that your type of extreme slavery is not sustainable in the long-term. "With courage you will dare to take risks, have the strength to be compassionate, and the wisdom to be humble. Courage is the foundation of integrity." ~ Keshavan Nair
