I was always wondering if two doms faced off with each other to attracted a single sub/slave at a gathering?

First, I think it's odd that an unowned slave be at a party. But, if some were invited, they are usually considered the quasi-property of the host. He is the one that has put in the effort to get them, strip and shave them to be presentable, and has organized the evening's events and assignments to the slaves. Often, the host has a good idea ahead of time what Master would like which slave. So it is much more common for a Master to talk to the host about a certain slave, its qualities, and who else may be interested in owning it. I've never been to (or even heard of) a gathering where it was just a bunch of random Masters and slaves off of the street.

Second, no slave is worth fighting for. I've never seen such a confrontation. In general, true Masters are very congenial to each other, and they work out what is best for themselves based on their needs and the qualities of the slave. More often than not, neither one keeps the slave, because finding a good Master/slave match is difficult.

Third, should there be such a random gathering, the newbie slaves have a long list of what they want in their perfect Master, and think they are a perfect slave for any Master, and almost always end up going home alone. In a few years they'll learn that a slave with an ego is very unattractive. The experienced slaves are easily spotted and are often grabbed up very fast, so what remains is usually a muddy mix of ego-filled rejects and weekend game-players. There isn't much worth fighting for.

Tip for the slaves: It is true that an athletic six-pack abs will get a Master to chat with you and even invite you to his home, but if you can't cook and iron, you'll be out the door just as fast, along with the other weekend cum dumps. I think I am similar to most other serious Masters in valuing a slave's skills over its body. A Master can always give his slave six-pack abs, but he can't give him brains.

Depends what you mean by "faced off" with each other.

There is definitely competition for desirable, unowned, s-types at events or other gatherings. However, the ensuing "face off" is similar to what you would see in the vanilla world:

  • Two different doms want the same unowned s-type
  • The s-type chooses which one he or she wants to be with
  • The dom who was not chosen politely goes on their way

Not much of a face off there. I'm sure some people can be more dramatic/immature about being rejected but thankfully I haven't seen it yet.

I have seen minor conflicts when so called d-types behave inappropriately towards owned/unowned s-types ... but it's usually limited to some colorful language and the d-type being labeled a poseur. These people usually end up not enjoying their time at the event because word gets around quickly.

um... i don't think he was talking about that kind of thing Sirs.

I am an unowned girl and i attend munches here. i don't have to be owned to attend them, i don't have to be owned to attend a play party, i wouldn't go unless with someone personally though.

TMQMB, have you ever gone to a munch? There is one in vancouver twice a month. Please see the below link.

Munches aren't what they sound like. Its a gathering of like minded people. The one i attend has wine and a couple import beers. We all bring in munchies to share. There's no booths but instead are couches and a pool room. It's just mingling with like minded people.

There is no dueling for subs. I hope this helped...

I don't think it should ever have to come to a face-off between Dominant types. But, like in vanilla life, you will see confrontations.

My attitude is, if another Dom Really wants a particular sub, then so be it.

Well what I meant by the thread was, at a gathering if there is a single sub/slave and there and two or more doms were interested in this one sub/slave, do they compete to gain control of the sub/slave. I never been to a munch, I never had to. As a x master I lead a very private life, always worked never had time to hit the local scene, and I did not think I needed to attend a munch when I already had a slave. Now being single again I would like to attend a munch and see how people interact, I just not into brass or vain people. Your head must have been pounding when writing that...It had feeling and a certain type of depth to it, you put a lot of pepper into it....keep it up

(emphasis mine)

No they don't compete but it would be funny to watch if they did. Sort of like watching Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker fighting it out with their light sabers.

Some d-types will definitely make a move for anyone they think may be available. What happens (if anything) is of course up to the s-type at the time.

Well it is funny you mention starwars, because one of the subs I know is strong with the force, I think she is leaning more to the dark side.....ha

I don't compete.. As if.. jeez.. If it doesn't crawl towards me, or if it doubts between the undersigned and an other Master, then for sure I won't be interested from my side.

There is no spoon and there is no competition. If you can't see that as slave, you're not meant to be mine..

I had a similar thought as well... gave me endless rounds of chuckles... reminded me of a few Star Trek episodes... :-)
