Wonder if some of you good people could help shed light on a subject that has been kindda worrying me.

I have some errrrrm, rather explicit pics on slavefarm. At the moment I am going through a custody case, and have written to slavefarm asking if they could please delete my pics and close my profile, explaining my situation.

They refuse to do so, on the grounds that in their terms and conditions posting the pics gives them explicit right to post them and do with them what they wish (I must admit at the time I never read the terms and conditions).

Is there anything I can do about this? Any legal way I can get them to take my pictures down?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do. Hire a lawyer and maybe they can find an out for you.

This is a shining example of why you should be careful of what you post online, because once it is out there it is almost impossible to take it back.

Good luck.

I have to agree with what pet ka MJ wrote.

Are there any privacy laws in the UK that you could throw at them? Unfortunately even then, pictures float around forever out there.

All the best with your custody case.

As far as I'm aware under UK law you have no recourse. You gave them the copyright, end of. It's your responsibility to read the T&C's. Sorry.

Having read the Terms on the website, it specifically says;
slavefarm wrote:
Do not submit media in exchange for membership and then demand the material to be removed after your membership expires.

Bearing in this in mind, you can appreciate their position because it was in black and white 'before' you posted your pictures; even so, you'd think that sometimes these people might make an exception to their own rule on compassionate grounds, given the eloquence of the petition.

Eloquence is key though (and no td, I'm not suggesting you weren't nice about how you wrote to them, I'm suggesting that how people can word something like this would seem hostile when it quite simply isn't.

Bear in mind that your petition to have the pics removed 'now' could prove to be a bit late; my reason for saying this is that the site also states the pics are 'publically displayed before going to a members-only area 'after some time'; the chances are then, the very people you might not want to see them, if the perchance to know your activities, could've seen them anyway. Oh, and since you won't be a member anymore, what makes you think that they won't retain copies and keep them up? You won't be a member to see them anyway, will you?

There are always privacy laws pretty much everywhere 333, but the problem here is that firstly, in signing up to the site, td waived her right to it (up to point anyway). It's true what you say, even if td did get somewhere with the pics and slavefarm, the chances are someone may have lifted a pic or three, and posted them on their own webby; or another possibility is that slavefarm could be affiliated to other websites and then what have ya got? The pics have gone viral - like one of Phay's profiles did (bloody mistake that was - took ages to find them all, gawd!)

Don't get me wrong, Im aware of the purpose of the OP, and that the whole reason for wanting a take-down is because of a custody case, but preparing to bear the brunt of what might be (in the back of your mind, because the pics may or may not be considered after all)

I know there could be some right dubious pictures of me floating around of the Internet, permitted or not. Whether I care or not is beside the point. They're there. Somewhere.

This isn't quite right. The problem here is that td can't actually prove the pics are hers even though she sent them to the site; for argument' sake (as far as the site's Terms suggest), they could've been borrowed from me, sent in, and assumed that they were hers, it'at 'that' point Copyright is assumed to be the originators. Further, while td has 'material property rights' in so much as the pics 'were' hers to send, the site, because she sent them in to it, now have 'intellectual property rights' to the copies, and can do whatever they like with them, pretty much, so long as they act responsibly within their own Terms.

In any case, acting on cases like this, and actually winning can prove costly from the outset, even if you win; getting the costs back after from the Defendant can be a problem.

Whilst in the OP, its a problem anyway, it's a matter of weighing it up, and thinking about how much more you stand to lose. In all honesty, I wouldn't be quite so concerned about the pics.

Tainted, in all sincerity, good luck with your case.

Regards,

Sean.

I have found out over the years that in cases like this,, do not say anything to anybody online unless it is absolutely necessary. The pics seemed to be buried with no ID except when clicked and amongst a good many others pics would be hard to trace.

What becomes easy to trace is forum threads, google is very good at this and tho the pics are hard to find, the threads of discussing them are much easier.

If it seems to at any point, a lost cause, best to just let it go and 99 out of 100 times will never be found at the site like this one that has 2400 pics to go through just to find a few.

If the pics go away, the threads still remain to be found.

Wishing you well and the best!

Respectfully MeluthTur
