Mon 16 Aug 10, 1:52 AM naughtyslave US, 2 yrs hello..i have been reading here for almost a year now.i enjoy reading all the posts and opinions of everyone.There is a master that i have grown to have a great deal of admiration for through reading His posts.i wanted to contact Him to tell Him and to ask His opinion on some issues.The thought of this frightened the hell out of me but some how i managed to find the courage to send Him a note.To my surprise, i found Him to be very kind and generous of His time and His wisdom.To both, i am very grateful...So, my question is this...Do other slaves/subs have the same fear? Have you ever wanted to seek the advice of the Masters here but were to intimidated to contact them? Now, I have no problem contacting anyone, regardless of, well, anything. I think, like most things, it's down to confidence and experience. We are all human afterall and besides, I think that 'some' d-types rather enjoy being contacted out of the blue. If they don't... tough for them and don't worry about it - it was never meant to be. I've only been on this site for about 6 weeks, and I've never posted anything, well, that's not true now since this is my first, but I've been contacted quite a few times for my opinion about things, so I'd have to say that you shouldn't fear contacting anyone about anything. But then I thought that a) what have I got to lose by asking a question? and b) they probably enjoy giving advice and helping a sub/slave. So I just got over it and asked away! I think it should be absolutely normal behavior for any Master to be polite, respectful and helpful to any slave who contacts him out of the blue for whatever reason. On the other hand there should never be a hurdle for a slave to contact a Master if done polite and respectful as well. In the end we all are part of a unique and magnificent community here at TSR; we all are here to listen, learn and respectfully help each other where possible. If as slave you would like to approach a Master, do so, no need to hesitate. Don't let the opportunity fade away. Hi Naughty, I have contacted people via memo in the past and while i noted who was a Master and who wasn't, i contacted them regardless and sent out a general, respectful memo asking for help. I wanted *their* opinion and felt the topic was not something i could post on the boards. Each one took the time to reply and i learned a little bit of something from everyone. It didnt matter the label they gave themselves. From asking the questions i had long conversations, short conversations, some of these have led to friendships. Had i not sent the question in the format i did, i would not have the insight i have. In my opinion, Masters are to be respected, not feared. Even if someone is owned, another Master can give a completely different perspective and help them understand something in a way their own Master cannot. Sometimes the trees are too dense to see the wood. Anyone recieving a memo can choose to reply - or not - there are lessons to be learned at every turn. The memo function is there for a reason. ...besides... whats the worst that can happen from behind a computer screen?? (in this context) Some of the Masters i have spoken to have actively asked me to point subs/slaves in their direction if they come to me for advice/help and i am unable to do this... some of them *WANT* to help/guide/advise...they are teachers of their art. And Naughty Slave, i understand what everyone is saying about respecting Masters and not being afraid, but i think i would be just like you and feel nervous anyway. At least at first. If you're nervous about talking to someone they can't see the effects of that nervousness (stuttering, sweating). That thought helped this slave get over that. In person it's still hard sometimes to say things, but over the net it's become easy for her. If she has something to say she says it. It would just suck if that person also wanted to say something to you but also couldn't find the courage to say it. -Bina Always the curious one ~ His bina 18 Aug 10, 12:15 AM MeluthTur US(TN), 6 yrs £ Y! I believe Most Master's have no problem in being contacted respectfully by a slave. For Me the only info I look for is if he/she is owned states somewhere that the slave has permission to contact Me. If I am in doubt I will always return with that question. Otherwise, I enjoy getting the memos, it does make me feel useful and well as most masters are, helps the ego a bit. And as Lord Uther has most accurately touched on we are always prepared to share our Godly wisdom to those who would like to learn. *smiles* ok so some ego's have already been boosted for the day!
