Because of these many common punishments can't be used. These include Master ignoring his slave, or Master threatening to disown his slave. Basically ones that will make my abandonment issues any worse. I was wondering if anyone had punishment suggestions that avoided that issue, but were still effective punishments. 23 Apr 10, 6:53 AM OliveCS20 5 yrs -In Japan children are punished by going to a corner and sitting with their feet folded under them for five minutes but any time will do. -Days when you are not allowed to do what you enjoy if you get any down time to just be with yourself. -Scrubbing floors with a tooth brush seems to work for people in the army. -writing lines is a school classic. -Spankings if you can take it. -Writing about what you've done wrong can also be a very good. Hand spanking can still be very effective (as well as humiliating), but - being a Brit - I also use a traditional school-type cane. I don't give excessive punishments with it, usually no more than six strokes across a slave's buttocks. But I do make every stroke count. Trust me, that gets a slave's attention every time. Allocating menial and pointless tasks - such as making a slave cut an area of grass with its teeth or sitting on 'guard duty' with one of the dogs for an hour or so - can also make a point. When I am being punished I am subjected to the "Chapter of Faults." This is a system devised by the Bededictine monks centuries ago and has only in the last century been discontinued by Vatican II But enough of the history lesson. "Chapter of Faults" entails the slave/sub/property kneels facing the Master/Mistress/Owner and listens while a list of misdeanours is read out. At the end the list is handed to the slave and the Owner leaves the room. The slave must remain in that position until the Owner returns and orders the slave to move/rise. (Usually five minutes is ample.) The slave is only allowed to thank the Owner for pointing out his/her shortcomings. No other speech is allowed.. At no point does the slave argue or contest or give excuses for the fualts even if he/she feels this is unjustified. The slave accepts what is said. If an impossible situation arises, it is discussed at a later time. The Chapter of Faults is conducted in a formal setting and has the same gravitas (to the slave) as a collaring. Physical punishments such as flogging tend to be fetishised and are best left for play situations. Having said that, there have been times when I've been given a few extra hard stokes during a play beating for individual transgressions. I am usually forwarned. I am totally against any punishment that either ignores a slave or threatens abandonment. To my mind, this is never conducive. Of course, others here may disagree. Punishment happens because a slave neglects (for whatever reason) to otherwise carry out the orders of their master. Therefore, to be effective, each and every punishment would do well to fit the situation and slave, because this is a lesson the master needs the slave to learn and not repeat. I make a point of this because some use punishment 'just because', rather than for correction. In reality, punishment can only produce satisfactory results if the master understands their slave sufficiently. He needs to know what makes you 'tick', in other words. Once he gets to grips with that it shouldn't be too hard to invent an appropriate punishement. However, I am also wary of choosing to always punish bad behaviour rather than reward good. I work best with the 'carrot' rather than the 'stick' and he understands this. It is his attitude and patience that results in my better behaviour, rather than punishment. A good Master who understands their slave will find appropriate punishments. I don't like pain, but will accept a high degree of it before I give in, when I'm feeling particularly stubborn. I also really hate my belly button being touched. This is my achillies heel and my master knows it; so guess which punishment I receive most regularly! 26 Apr 10, 4:33 AM 893-418-828 US(WI), 2 yrs Y! I have always found that Punishments should fit the Submissive. Pain is not an option with me but there has to be punishment for disobedience, some subs push the envelope just to see what their Master will do. The best way is to find out what the submissive hates to do, scrubbing a floor or cleaning out an item, then have her do it over and over and over until the submissive is really sorry for her/his transgression, no pain, and a lesson learned. No I don't. Or at least not that I am aware of. How did you deal with punishment restrictions? did it ever cause problems with you and your Master?
