When a slave is owned, especially in a no-limits, full ownership capacity, the Master has thus afforded Himself certain luxuries. A slave IS a person, and DOES have the right to cast a ballot. However, within the constraints of being owned, the slave does not have the liberty to make the decision as to which way that ballot would be cast. The Master owns the slave, and thus owns the ballot in the slave's hand. Besides, if the Master votes for a Democrat, for example, and the slave follows along and votes for a Republican, the slave is going 180 degrees contrary to the Master's wishes, and undermining his Master. A slave who had never exercised her right to vote had been ordered by her Master to research the candidates, choose one and vote for them. She felt it unfair that her Master should order her to do this. After all it's her vote & her right to use it or not. Pretty much everyone agreed that her Master telling her to vote was no big deal & she should do as she was told, but there was quite a disagreement over wether he had the right to tell her who to vote for (he hadn't but the subject arose because alot of peeps had said "well at least he hadn't cos that would be wrong"). I personally feel that a master has every right to order their slave which way to vote. A lot of people believe that by not voting they are exercising their right to vote. They believe this is their way of saying "I don't agree with any of you" so if a Master has the right to over-rule that I don't see why he shouldn't have the right to say how that vote is used. What would I do? Well tbh I can't see me taking on a slave that was diametrically opposed to me politically anyway. I'm quite firm in my political opinions and I think someone who who was just as firm & vocal with opposing opinions may cause unnecessary tension in the dynamic, so I can't see the need ever arising that I would have to claim that right. But hey opposites attract and even if I did have a slave that was a Tory boy to my Labour I'd probably let them have free reign unless they were about to vote in a way that I would find impossible to deal with, i.e. they had decided to vote for the British National Party or the English Defence League (our home grown facists). Saying that the UK is about to have a referendum next week regarding changing our voting system from First Past The Post to Alternative Vote and in that I would probably order them which way to vote. My main reason being that it's a yes or no vote and if they voted opposite the way I was voting they would be in effect cancelling out my vote and to me that's too much like a slave silencing their Master. From my point of view, I would insist that my slave vote. I would also expect that she do some research and make an informed decision. I am very politically active, so it is quite probable that she would be as well, and that we would share views. I came from a different political past background, so i cant see this subject any other way. On the other side....as property i do have to agree that...like any chair, table....they actually dont vote. If i am property i am not able to vote And not even to express my opinion nor agree with Master. Now since i am human, property but still human. If i dont agree with Master's political views...i would rather not vote...and i would politely request Master to stay home and skip my vote, go to vote and vote null...or give a white vote. After all it is me who has the ultimate and last power....the power of submission. The only and last choice i had when i submitted to Him. Such Master willing to take the power of my political voice....that Master is out from my list. I wouldnt even think twice, nor bend my opinion in the future.
