I have noticed with interest that some Dominants in O&P relationships have more than one type of collar: for example a personal collar and a household collar, or a permanent collar and a day / guest collar. This tends to (but need not only) occur in poly households.
Although the intentions of the different collars may be divergent, this kind of set-up can still embody many of the keywords of O&P - in particular House, Rituals, and Structure.
I am interested in hearing about others' experiences with this. Do you have more than one type of collar in your household, or have you been in a household that has more than one? How did it work in practice?

This neko has two collars a metal one (that causes weakness and nausea) and a black leather dog collar. Pretty soon neko will have a permanent collar. :D

I use a training collar, a house collar and a personal collar.
The training collar is for just that...training. I don't claim ownership, just control. That control can be over just a few hours or days or up to a year at a time for a formal training relationship.
The house collar is what I use with any new slave I own. Also it can be for one who is being trained which includes ownership that can last an indefinite period and they live with or very close to me.
My personal collar is reserved for someone living with me whom I have had in a house collar for at least a year and whom I plan on not releasing for the foreseeable future. And of course...the one slave I put in a personal collar ends up falling in love with someone else and I stood in for her father at their wedding. I also transfered her to her new husband after the reception that night. <grins> As they say, feces occureth.

slave spirit i read Your post and when i saw "excited " and lost sleep i felt a pang , and with Masters blessings and knowledge i would like to comment .
a few months ago Master surprised me with a ceremony and collar that brought tears to my eyes. it is my everyday collar , a pretty piece , leather and some studs . i wear it to work , and out , with or without my Master . rarely do i take it off , and i welcome questions , i am so so proud to be His , i have no problems with anyone asking me anything .
some comment on the fashion , and like it for that reason, and some REALLY get it , but either way , its beautiful because Master put it there .
last week Master collared and leashed me in public , and i am equally at ease with a "dog " type collar , its not the style of collar , its the ownership that matters , and the Owner .
