Sat 5 Dec 09, 5:30 PM 333-528-841 CA, 3 yrs Winter weather has finally reached Alberta!! The wind is blowing like crazy but the snow has finally stopped. I don't like cold weather at all but I love the first big snow fall! Now it really feels like Christmas is coming. This weekend,(today) we put up the lights and the tree. I have all the ingredients to get the Christmas baking done. Hopefully the Christmas shopping will get finished as well. I am so excited! Master and I will be going to Banff for Christmas and Boxing Day, to be with family/friends. Is there anyone else excited about the holidays arriving? What type of things do you do to prepare or what do you do around the holidays? You lucky lucky person There's been none here yet but hopefully soon. Like you I dislike the cold but snow is different because it's beautiful and festive and warmer than constant rain. Christmas is a special time of year and always spent with family. No tree up yet, that's next weekend. I'm lucky to be on holiday the week of Christmas so the baking will be done then. I'm really excited about Christmas this year - not really sure why, but I am! Actually, it might be because this is the first year that Master and I have had our own flat with our own tree to put up, and picking out all the decorations was quite a big thing. It would be so nice if it snowed here over Christmas. We had a lot of snow in February of this year, and that was pretty cool, but a White Christmas would be perfect. I have a hard time during xmas holidays, i had a child who passed early dec, only lived a few hours, and so i think, although this was almost 19 yrs ago I still feel the sadness associated with this. Master and I have talked about how we both feel christmas is a hard time for us, although his is much different than mine. Anyways, we have determined that being together we can be strong and try our best to enjoy the GOOD things about the holidays during this time of year. Im so lucky to have my Master who understands me and allows me to feel sad, and encourages me to start the happy memories with him. I miss loved ones gone at this time of year and although it makes me sad, I look to the new beginnings that the Christmas season brings and the happy memories of times past. I look forward to seeing those I have not been able to see throughout the year, spending time catching up on their lives. Yes, we LOVE the holidays!!! Back in November, we bought our first Christmas tree (it's all white, with multicolor lights and blue, silver and pink ornaments, plus ornaments given to us from family. ^_^ We also have a tradition of every year, getting a Christmas ornament. We have one from when we first started dating in 2004 all the way up to now. ^_^ Anyway, as we live with family, our tree is in our bedroom. We also have a little santa light (which is really bright blue) and several other decorations. We also have gotten each other gifts (which we've already gave each other :p) and gifts for my in-laws. But yes, we loooooooove the holidays.
