Went to ask the owner about pricing and all that fun stuff. Master is insistent that I get a tattoo, just to "see what they're like." I'm planning on a few small ones - O/our symbol (back of neck, right side), a treble clef with a rose (left hip), Orion (left wrist), and an elephant (undecided on where yet). But I needed to talk pricing with the owner of the shop first, and find out some information on piercings, too. Because Master is also insistent on a navel piercing as one of His "marks."
I made the appointment to get said piercing done for as soon as possible, so I don't have enough time to chicken out and fight Him on it. It's set for two weeks from today at one in the afternoon. He will be coming with me, because He's paying for it and because if He isn't there, I might just chicken out.
I'm a bit apprehensive about all of this. I mean, I have my earlobes pierced, but I had planned on stopping there. Any tattooed/pierced people out there with any tips for a newbie?
Edited to add:
I had intended to mention this before, but I forgot. The tattoos Master and I have chosen have special meaning to me. Each one has some big involvement in my life. Orion is my "go-to" constellation, something I look to when I need guidance or inspiration, which I have held as a personal muse for many years. Elephants have always represented strength and wisdom to me, which are traits I aspire to daily. O/our intertwined Zodiac design is meaningful for the both of us. The treble clef and rose incorporate my love for music and my favorite flower.
We just discussed another design that I had wanted, but Master wanted to change. He offered to redraw it, but I told Him that I had designed that piece specifically and I had not wanted any changes to it. He just told me that, if I still felt strongly about it and wanted it, I could have that one, too. That one is a heart filled in like a yin-yang with an ankh in the center, symbolizing love, life, and balance. That one W/we will probably have put on my back. Owned by The_Tesh

Well I got my first and so far only tattoo when I was 23 I'm letting caethes pick out my next one...To me it felt about as bad as a minor sunburn. Having the medics dig shrapel out of my arm hurt far worse. The again I have a high tolerance for pain having grown up rough and tumble in the country. Just pay attention to something else or zone out. Edited 27 Jun 09, 4:43 AM by Nomadd

There are a lot of tips on care for piercings & tattoos on these boards and on BME.com. For my piercings (i've had 11 done, most recently a dermal anchor in April, and have 7 still in, but i've never had my navel), the "LITHA" policy works best (leave it the hell alone)--although salt soaks feel great they don't seem to speed the healing process.
Have fun! pais

what My caethes didn't post because W/we hadn't decided it yet is that My initials will be placed inside the body of the "phoenix" as well as her "slave name" between the wings. |

W/we had to bump the navel piercing appointment to today. Master's job scheduled Him for a shift right over the original appointment time (giving Him more hours to make up for the upcoming week He's taking off for a cousin's wedding). That would have left me without someone to hold the baby while I got a needle stuck through my belly, so I called the piercer and asked if there were any available openings today. She told us to come in at 1:30. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be; pressure from the clamp, a small, quick pinch from the needle, and a little more pressure while she put the jewelry in. It has yet to really hurt, though it does throb a little when I clean it.
I put a picture in my profile, but it hasn't been approved yet.

Tattoos are fun and addictive and i think you'll have fun once you get started. i tried the nipple piercings before but took them out when SIR and i realized it diminished O/our play time with the breasts. The nipples were too sensitive for me and i came to not want to be touched at all. Some may say that i had no choice and was bound to have to do what SIR said but the pain caused anxiety and was enough that i wanted to ask to be released and walk away from that pain. Written by it with its Owner's permission. Thank you SIR.

Wow, way to go, Congratulations slave of The Tesh!! You are braver than me. I really have a paranoia about needles.
It is something I am thinking about working on.
Keep us posted once you decide or start on the tattoo. 333-528-841

You know, it really wasn't all that painful. The worst part really was the clamp; it was awkward and uncomfortable, but the needle was a tiny little pinch and once it was through, I felt nothing. Hurt far less than getting my earlobes pierced.
Edited to add: So far as the tattoos, I do plan on them; I'm just not sure when. I asked Crystal (my piercer, and will be my tattoo artist) what the cost would be to get the Orion done on my wrist. It's currently in place, in henna (which reminds me, I need to redo the stain this week so I can show her the color I want for it). She told me it would be about $40. I likely won't have that done till after Christmas; I have a few other things that need paying for first. Not much play money, I'm afraid, so these things take time. Owned by The_Tesh
