I found this article on new research on what is torture interesting.

What torture is seems to be a hot topic these days. Their conclusion is that mistreatment may be more serious than physical abuse. |

I think my girl would agree. She finds it far more disturbing to be mentally tortured than anything physical I can dish out to her. Owner of nika. She is mine and I love her dearly.

Very interesting article PT, i am not surprised at all by their findings. Psychological torture will have far greater and lasting effects then any physical torture, which is more likely to be felt a test of endurance by the soldiers in the study. Most physical pain will subside and fade away in memory where a severe psychological trauma will persist.
Emotional and psychological scars go deep... think about any childhood event...it's not the trauma of a broken arm that stays with us, but that time you were humiliated by your classmates or put down by your parents...that hurt stays with you a lifetime... we forgive but we can't forget...so i can only imagine the effect a psychological trauma like those described in the article would have.
