Sorry to say i do not know where to post this thought provoking question so i do so here and hope people will answer and help me understand if there is something possible with it. Ok W/we all have perceptual viewpoints on everything in life, meaning W/we all have personal viewpoints that are O/our's only and W/we tend to hold strong to them. My question for everyone out there is this.....
Is it possible to step beyond our perceptual viewpoints and see things as anyone do? Is it even possible as human beings to see beyond our own narrow viewpoints.. because even the most open mind has somethings they are not open too, its nature to have something that gets your back up. So can W/we go beyond it and see what others see in U/us and what W/we do? Is it possible to show another person how to do it? Another part in this is like in my messy situation on another thread... when you meet someone you form an opinon and if you like/love that person its stuck and nothing anyone can do will change it... until some sense gets knocked into your head... and funnier some people who have had problems with not seeing something in their face thats blatant to others will refuse to see it though they went through it before... can W/we help these people see the problem they face? Or to W/we sit back and try to catch them as they tumble down when their world crumbles? written kneeling at His feet, leash frimly in place

I believe that many of the world's religions which focus on a discipline of transpersonal compassion practice doing just that. Like all things, it can be a regular spiritual discipline ... and like all disciplines, it can't be forced on someone else. They have to find their own way there. You can hold up a marker, you can model the behavior, but if they're not ready they won't go there and you can't make them, or even coax them. (Unless they are your slave. *grin)
-Raven Kaldera -If you're in charge, it's all on your head. If it's not all on your head, then you're not really in charge.

very well said Raven
The devil came to me last night and asked what I wanted in exchange for my soul.
I still can't believe I said pizza. Friggin' cravings.

i believe that despite our greatest effort that even the most open minded relapse into our own perspectives. We may be able to see the diversity within life, other points of view yet internally i sense that we process the information to our own beliefs. This doesn't mean that acceptance is not present it signifies that our views may become skewed consciously and unconsciously from what we have experienced, what we have learned, what we have been taught and what has been ingrained within our psyche.
i believe as well that we become attached to other individuals when we relate on any emotional level. The degrees are varying. The saying so often heard that you can't change another only yourself comes to mind. You can offer support and guidance yet until the person(s) conceives the issues themselves there is nothing but to be there for them if you wish to do so. We repeat ourselves in good and in bad, finding the path we are given not always what we would choose.
i may instinctually know the "truth" yet may not be able to willing accept it our of fear of failure, out of loss of oneself, guilt, or insecurity. To go beyond one's comfort level is challenging and rewarding all at the same time as it allows us to learn and grow within our own capabilities and to realize our potential.

thank you for those replies, another quesion on this came to mind. Could a (i don't believe i'm gonna use this word) 'normal' person see that they have a narrow viewpoint? and could they grasp that enough to see past it? written kneeling at His feet, leash frimly in place
