i searched every phrase i could think of to find what i was looking for in other topics but none of them were what i was told to find.

i recently found two Chinese symbols that stand for submissive, the old version and the modern version as well as an adorable flower from the Gorean books and showed them to my Master because He knows of my desire to have some sort of marking to stand for what i am.

This lead my Master to wonder if there were any other markings out there made for Owners that meant "Dominate" or "Master" besides the shields shown here on the site. He wants something slightly more elaborate than an upward arrow on a shield so i looked every where i could think of and found nothing. So this pet was wondering if any others out there have ever come across something besides the upward arrow that stood for Male Dominates.

And if there happens to be a board out there about this that i missed, i am very sorry and would be greatly pleased if i was directed to it.

Try looking up the japanese word for husband/master. This should give you a start point for your search. There is also the words "shu" and "nushi" which also mean master in japanese. The kanji for these are really very pretty. Hope this helps.

The Chinese character for "slave" is the character for woman "nu" in Mandarin, enclosed in a square. Literally translated as enclosed woman or owned/posessed woman.

Perhaps the best advice is to look up a book of Chinese characters.

Hisnadiya -- you can look at my my pictures page here for some symbols, and the font downloadable from my homepage for many more.

The basic Chinese character for "master" is Unicode character U4E3B or HTML 主 -- see http://www.unicode.org/cgi-bin/GetUnihanData.pl?... or http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/4E3... for some info on this character.

That's not really the case; the basic "slave" character in Chinese is Unicode U5974, which is the woman character (U5973) juxtaposed to an original depiction of a right hand. (There are a number of visual renderings of character U5974 in my picture gallery on this site.)

The woman character enclosed in a square is U56E1. I posess one antiquated reference work ("Chinese Characters, Their Origin, Etymology, Classification, and Signification: A Thorough Study from Chinese Documents" by L. Wieger) which states that the original meaning of this character was "slave girl" (which is part of the reason why I included a version of U56E1 in my font), but it was never the main Chinese word for "slave", and if you look up U56E1 in standard Chinese dictionaries, you don't really find that meaning (see http://www.unicode.org/cgi-bin/GetUnihanData.pl?... etc.).

Indeed Anon Moos, you are quite right. I'll not gainsay you on that. I have only referred the basic character but as you and I know there are several developments over the millenia of Chinese pictograms. I think for our purposes others should look to your comprehensive site as it covers a wide range of suitable imagery from various sources.

Thank you so much for giving me the link to all of your albums. Some of the images there are quite lovely. i really love the one of the male and female symbols joined by a heart. But my Master and i found the Kanji for Master and slave to be quite pretty as well and W/we will most likely be going with them.

The Chinese symbol you show is the one i was talking about, as well as the red flower. Both are quite nice in my opinion but Master has decided on the Kanji versions so that it was W/we'll be going with. Again, thank you.
