Whip Marks ? (9)

I was wondering. There are pictures of African slaves with big long Keloid form being whipped. Why is it that people who partake in whipping during a scene not end up with keloids?
thanks so much

I think it has much to do with race. You would have to research it to be sure, but it's my understanding that the more pigmentation (melanin?) present, the more of a propensity for scarring there will be. My younger sister was of partial African descent and her skin would form keloids over the smallest of injuries. Conversely, Master Fire is very light complected and had the opposite problem. (see here)
Method and care are important, too. I'm of Irish and Italian descent and so have parts of both situations - my piercings close quickly *and* I have a tendency to scar. C doesn't care for scars, so he uses a very careful method of cutting (surgical quality equipment, sterility) and I use ointments and sunblocks toward their prevention. For those marks that appear to be stubborn, I see a dermatologist as soon as possible.

evidence I have seen also supports this idea. My girl is a very fair skin type and despite her absolutely loving to be marked during whipping, and despite her getting marked during play, they fade incredibly fast... =( Owner of nika. She is mine and I love her dearly.

Many in the scene do not actually break the skin with their whips. In "real" slavery, the whole point was to do such. When this happens with whips, the skin is torn rather than cut. This increases the likelihood of scarring. Those of dark skin, in particular of African decent, are much more likely to scar from a level of either hypertropic scars to sever keloided scars. If you want to know more, I suggest googling those terms.
Master Fire **The power of who we are can be intoxicating.** **The power of who we could be is humbling.** **Yet, we are assured we are exactly as we should be.**

The previous posts are correct. Our subs and slaves aren't scarred because they are flogged or whipped within their own pain tolerence and with devices that are not designed to break the skin.
Punitive whipping of slaves and criminals was done with bullwhips, chains, cat o' nine tails with metal tips all designed to cause real traumatic damage. There was also no regard to the recipient's tolerence level. |

Same here. Little thing can take the longest, most creative lashings, and still have them suckers fade within a day or so. Ho hum, there are worse things than that I guess. |

the best thing we've found for leaving marks is actually elastic bands and tea towels!!
A large elastic band on the thigh, pulled out quite far and then released causes incredible pain, with a lasting stinging feeling and a lovely mark which stays for about a week! A whipping on the ass with a tea towel also causes marks, although those marks tend to be large bruises which aren't so pretty. While away from me though my girl likes any marks she can get!
Seems the cheapest and simplest things cause the best markings.... damn expensive canes!! lol Owner of nika. She is mine and I love her dearly.

Indeed a Whipping scene does leave lovely marks, as for the "ticks" of the whip those marks are gone in a few days, but when the girl is "striped" which Master calls it, there are present for at least a week, would assume by my own experience with the whip, that the intensity of the strike comes into play.
Enjoys the wrapping and stripes of her Masters whip,

Hi Bella Ragaza,
personally I´m convinced, that most sessions are safe, sane and consesual.
Permanent whip marks are just scars.
And they are almost a result of real and cruel torture!
Inddeed the scars of african people produce significant more keloids but other races (e.g.: the tribe scars of the Nuba and others).
But well: real Torture is never ever SSC!
The pain and the pain-causing techniques are used to break totally the victim psychally and physically.
In This sense the whip is used in torture.
Technically whip scars are almost caused
by rude techniques and hard hits;
by whips/canes, that burst the skin at once;
by hiting again and again on a bursted whip mark;
by hiting the victim till it bleeds;
by infecting the bursted and bleeding skin.
If You like to get some permanent whip marks voluntarely You should be aware to go a very hard and cruel and painfull way.
Good luck!
With best regards
Sklave Lupus
