Mon 20 Apr 09, 6:43 PM Rolling_Wildheart 6 yrs Although I stated over the weekend my intent to stay here, even if remaining on the periphery, something happened (over night apparently - for me anyway). There was a post on the "complete surrender" thread which was removed (actually there were a few, but only one which got me thinking) which, in my mind, was done simply out of defensiveness on this site owner's part. The post in question was a comment from Sir4Ryco addressing Remoses and stating "Welcome to SD!". Now, I know exactly the intent that was behind this post. Remoses is trying his best to defend the indefensible and Sir4Ryco was simply stating that as a way to point out that this is what SD! "is", as opposed to what TSR "was". (I realize that's a tortured explanation, but I just woke up.) I can not stand this type of arbitrary deletion of people's views simply because you don't like the tone. While I didn't care for the deletion of the post from BA and the subsequent comment from Tanos and immediate locking of the thread to which it was posted so no one could respond there, I felt there was, at least, a validation I could make for Tanos doing so. But the above referenced post? I can't justify that in any way, shape or form. If this is what Tanos wants, a website where everyone can be catered to in a general fashion while no complaints about the way he runs things are stated, fine. It is his website. But censoring of speech is not something I want to be a part of, even if I'm not the one doing so. It is with much regret that I must leave this website. I probably will still follow the topics without signing in, in hopes that things make a turnaround for the better. But it is my sincere doubt that will happen. Frankly, having donated to this site, despite being of very limited means, i feel betrayed when i see almost all of the many P/people i love so much, who helped me through some of the worst days of my life, believing T/they had to leave. i am not doing so yet specifically because a Person whose acted as Protector and Mentor to me in many ways since my Master died asked me not to - so out of respect for Her. i admit my M/s experience has been very sheltered and limited in belonging to one who was very possesive and protective of me. Quite frankly i don't understand the difference about "possesion" vs "ownership" in any academic or intellectual way, beyond perhaps a misunderstanding between the UK English and the various regions of the USA having their own dialects perhaps. What i do understand, as naive as i am, is that it feels different here- and i mean beyond the obvious tension from the split. it's gotten, to be blunt, to be quite boring. The same new, naive and ignorant sub/slaves jumping into things with what Master would have called Dommabes - they "wanna be a Dom" (or want to) - also many trolls and even some i fear may be outright predators. But it seems the active topics are the same things over and over - so mostly i've been on OFF TOPIC and otherwise getting my private memos, and, frankly, mostly moved over to Fet-Life. As a substance abuse counselor, retired due to being severely disabled physically and a widow, might i quote the recovering F/folks aphorism that "insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results." Because this IS Lord Tanos's site - although i've contributed something financially, so i'd think maybe my input would be at least considered- He does have the right to do - or not do, which is also a choice - what He wishes with it. But i don't understand how One of His stature in the world-wide community would basically seek to be sabotaging His own life-work. Perhaps the friendly releases of His 2 former slaves weren't quite so friendly as it was said to be, i don't know. i do know something seems to be very wrong, off, to put it mildly, and as a friend, i hope Lord Tanos comes back to Himself as He always was before recent incidents - whether the two are related or not i don't know. The whole thing is quite disturbing and off-putting, to say the least. i will say that i don't like to see good P/people treated as T/they have, that so far i'm staying, but don't expecting to see many posts from me on "active topics" because, to be quite blunt, it has become boring answering the same basic messages again and again and again with only the names changed to protect the ignorant, i guess. A case of "ad infinitum, ad nauseum, etc. etc. i am sad to say that, although there are very little hard feelings on my part, the direction the board is taking just FEELS like it's not really worth the time any more. No links or any statement of how he knows Tanos' intent in the matter - not even a full text of what he's referring to. I don't know any more than any other person here, but to my recollection, Sir4Ryko's post included a personal attack on a third member. Site policy makes it clear such comments are subject to deletion. Whatever else to the business, Sir4Ryko's post violated that policy. I'm not saying this is or isn't what happened because I don't know. But because Rolling Wildheart deleted his profile, he can't be asked whether he truly does, either. I have only a basic idea of what occurred here in the past and I understand that many people are angry with Tanos. It's been a good thing to keep in mind while reading the various complaints, charges and insults posted in the last few days - not only to Tanos, but to a fairly broad target of any person not in support. But be that as it may, whatever did go on can't relieve any member of the responsibility for what they write, or infer. I don't like censorship either, but the op is in itself a good example of the sort of thing that makes it necessary. He and his friends had their say for 48 hours, including all the personal attacks against me and other members. I'm not going to allow them to continue the name-calling and to take pot-shots on the main boards whenever their ego needs a boost.
