I highly recommend it if you can manage the trip. If you only attend one BDSM lifestyle event per year in Florida, this should be it. We went last year and we loved it. Now we're excited that the next one is only 3 weeks away. I'm not sure about it being Hell (though the heat may well prove me wrong), but I've been frequently known to call my hometown "God's Waiting Room." Master is a born-and-raised New Yorker, so the heat drives Him a little batty sometimes. I'm a transplant from Illinois, moved here when I was three; 21 years later, I'm just used to the sweltering summers, though I don't exactly enjoy it. O/our town doesn't have Ren Faires either (sad, as I love them). W/we have to drive a town south to get to the nearest one, but the better ones are always farther away. There is little to no breeze in the summer and all day the clouds build and blow in from the east and west coast, then converge and form "Possum Pounder" type down pours in the late afternoons! Other than that, it is nice... The Fort Lauderdale Ren. Fest. is the best, ImHO. It is always held around President's day each year.
