There are many professional branders out there; you can often find them through piercing studios. BMEzine is also a good online resource.
I do cautery branding for people, including doing it in ritual or as part of their scene. I don't do strike branding, although it's what most people want for "drama" reasons. I find that cautery branding makes a neater and more precise pattern - you can be elaborate with it in a way that you can't be with strike branding. And it takes significantly longer, and thus is less pain for a longer time, as opposed to a whole lot of pain all at once for three seconds and then it's done.
How a brand heals will depend on how deep it's done and how the person keloids (or doesn't). There's no way to guarantee how it will turn out. I've had them keloid up, and I've had them heal into lines so faint that you could barely see them and they needed to be redone. (That guy was one of the really good healers.) You never know, but most of my results have been clean pink scars.
-Raven Kaldera -If you're in charge, it's all on your head. If it's not all on your head, then you're not really in charge.

Master and I have discussed markings. W/we plan to have my nose pierced after W/we are married . The biggest reason for the wait is that W/we are reasonably certain that His fairly traditional Indian parents would cause some grief over it. He wants me to have my navel pierced once W/we're done having kids, though I balk at it. I may never truly warm up to the idea, but if He still feels that strongly about it then, I'll do it. For Him.
Tattoos and brands are out of the question mainly because Master doesn't want me in so much pain, and because I have always flatly refused tattoos since long before meeting Master, due to my fear of needles. Henna is an appropriate, needle-free alternative to such extreme markings, and can be kept up by bi-monthly reapplication. For a henna nut like myself, that works. Every Master is different in how they want their slaves marked. W/we have almost came up with a design for the tat that Master wants on me. However if it were a peircing instead that would be fine too. As ive heard it said a slave is a Masters piece of artwork to decorate as He/She wishes. |
