is it possible to make or is there on the market a reader that reads ink on flexible flesh? If not could SD hold a competition to design an approved strong design of code for tattooing. My feeling is the tattoo should have the minimum of 9 numbers at the top (with or without SD) and underneath either "slave rex" or "slave to named" or nothing. but a standard form and matching reader would be far the best Any ideas?

most barcode readers should be able to read ink on flesh, although skin tone may affect this as they read the reflected light from the gaps between the bars

It is my understanding that a barcode reader should be able to read code on pretty much any surface as it is not the line that is read, but the light reflected between the bars

The biggest hurdle with reading tattooed barcodes is the quality of the barcode itself. perhaps holding the tattoo taught may yield better results?
