Welcome ... :-)

I would repeat what everyone says about individualism and individual standards regarding choice. I could engage in sexual 'play' in a D/s pairing without love, and have. While I sought submission, I never planned or wanted to be a slave and I had no interest in submitting myself to enslavement until the matter of love and devotion became an aspect of first my former and now my current pairing.

Personally, love and devotion are the foundation on which W/we build our M/s life and practice, or as others prefer to say here sometimes, lifestyle, service, et al.

I did not see myself as a slave before a man I loved dearly enslaved me. My identity as a slave and my commitment to M/s are tied to my Master specifically and the way I personally chose to live the lessons of Adinkra, giving myself fully to the harmony and synthesis of male and female (OSRAM NE NSOROMMA or love and faithfulness between man and woman ) through the practice a 'just enslavement' (EPA or "Onii a n epa da wo nsa no, ne akowa ne wo": You are the slave of him whose handcuffs you wear).

While this 'lifestyle' has now become a spiritual pilgrimage for me, it is hard to imagine wanting or craving a 'Master' at large if some terrible fate befell Daddy. I can't imagine what I would or could do ... And prefer not to

There's no dearth of kindness In this world of ours; Only in our blindness We gather thorns for flowers. --(Thomas) Gerald Massey
