Okay I still can't find bread sugar. I got baker's sugar references but only to wholesale products for commercial bakeries. I'm thinking malt or treacle or molasses.
I can't find farine sugar either but I get the idea and am going to try things like muscovado sugars which are more molasses-y in flavour.
Thanks for that tho as for some reason it hadn't occurred to me to try different sugars as well as the different flours I've experimented with! Dumb huh?
I think also I'm not adding enough. A teaspoon of salt and sugar for a large loaf made with 500g of flour is perhaps also too low. Time for an experiment I think.

ps. I'm guessing sugar pipes is sugar cane? The other way of growing sugar from sugar beets? lol How difficult can language get!?

i sometimes use a tablespoon of honey in my loafs, or brown sugar.... but i don't use a bread machine, i use the oven.

Yes, sugar canes! (Duh - I should've thought of that. I just did a direct translation.) I think you're right on the malt-stuff as well.
A teaspoon is possibly enough of salt (maybe a little more), but a tablespoon should be enough of sugar.
How much water are you adding? Personally, I count bread-sizes through water amounts rather than flour weight. It's because I can easily do a 2.5 dl batch, or a 5dl batch, but a litre batch takes more of an effort - and water is always the first thing I'm adding. 
Anyone ever tried to make a litre batch of bread, where the recipe includes three eggs? I do that every once in a while, and my arms always hurt afterwards. It's a big, heavy dough, that is. But the bread is yummy!
Honey would work as well! Smile, it confuses people.

I mix our bread up every now and then by adding different flours (rye, wholemeal etc) and seeds. Flax seeds I've found create a yummy flavour throughout the bread.
Are you using milk for your bread dough or water? Using a mix of half milk half water will give you a lovely fluffy bread.
I always use mucovado sugar for the malt flavour. For every 3 cups of flour I generally use 2 teaspoons of sugar, one teaspoon of salt.

I have an odd question but I'm hoping someone may have some ideas.
Does anyone know of any ways to repel deer from entering the garden? We live very prettily on the edge of a forest, which has lots of beautiful deer running around which we love to see. I am also naturally delighted when the wander into our garden. They have now even acclimatised to my squeals of delight, and jus kind of give us a little nod,
However, they have now started coming in at night and eating all the new shoots from our lovingly planted and tended plants. This is not quite so charming. They seem especially fond of camelia oddly.
So anyway, I want a way that repels them from eating, but doesn't hurt them in any way. I suspect this will involve putting them off entering as (although I don't mind their little hoof prints everywhere) I think that'll be the key to stopping thir munching.
Any ideas?

I have heard - though have never tried it yet - that "jungle poo" which you can get in a polybag from garden centres. when put round the edges, will give a natural deterrent.
If it doesn't work it will at least give your plants a boost!

I've heard there's a gadget that emits a loud noise, far above what humans can hear, that repels deer and also cats.
You'd have to google though. Smile, it confuses people.

Hi all,
I was wondering whether anybody has mastered the art of keeping laminate wood floor tiles shiny?
I've tried a horde of different cleaners, which clean but do not add polish. I then used a wood polish after mopping, but found that all the polish did was create a milky smear.
The wood laminate tiles are a dark brown, and show up absolutely every mark. Whilst John doesn't mind the floors, they're driving me nuts!
Please help, all suggestions welcome. |

apparrently a few drops of meths in your final rinse brings up the shine in wood floors a treat!

failing that, i love "pledge" for all things wood, not sure if it's available over there though. i have no need, for such things, but to make you happy...
