As a newish member, I thought I ought to say hello.

I've never really been interested in S/M, bondage etc. I always viewed the thrill of them as essentially non-consensual. I assumed people were turned on just by the freedom to hurt someone else, and that never worked for me.

And then I came across some slave porn, and found it a slight turn on. Not a huge one, because I still worried about the non-consensual nature of it, but I was attracted because the submission seemed so much more voluntary than binding someone and beating them.

So I dug a little more, coming across this board, and reading threads, and learning a whole lot. And as I read more, I realised it was possible to have a consensual, loving relationship based on domination and submission. And I became more and more interested...

So I'll be hanging around, listening, asking stupid newby questions, and hopefully learning a whole lot more. If I get too anoying please tell me to shove off!

Hey Mark,

It's a real eye-opener, isn't it. That there are intelligent, sensible and thoughful people who choose this way of life. I'm still trying to get my head around it myself, especially what makes someone submissive tick. I've always been a "treat someone as you'd want to be treated" type. I don't think I have a submissive bone in my body and I'd never go in for anything non-consensual so learning that some women not only want that but feel incomplete without it is a real shift in your thinking.

It's tricky realising that a lot of what you've always assumed is wrong.

Welcome mate

Excellent! Welcome M.Y.

I'm glad you're finding it interesting and informative, and we busting a few myths for you... always nice. ;)

As you will no doubt have seen, there are several new dominants here of late and hopefully you can all learn together and get as much from SD! as the s-types generally do.

Don't fret about newbie questions... we like people who ask questions... the dumb ones are the ones who arrive pretending they know it all.

as my late Master would have said: "Welcome to O/our world"

and as a Master on another board signs off, "be good or be good at it, play nice!"

When time permits, you may find it of value to check the profile of someone that seems interesting and read their prior posts. It can provide a lot of insight and information about various elements of the life style. Enjoy yourself.

Another newbie here to say hello. My slave, 107-595-253 and I are new to this lifestyle. She is 18 years my junior and have been together for just over 9 months. Still VERY raw in the M/s slave area, but we are both greatly enjoying our newfound lives and are excited about the journey. I hope to learn a lot from the more experienced Masters so I may be the best Master to my kitten.

I am also new to this site. Being in a M/s is an ongoing experience. One day at at time it seems and some days have set backs. But the strive to move forward is rewarding to both M/s.

I once said "I have a dumb question?" Well as I learned there is no such thing as a DUMB question, cuz if I had not asked that one question, the little plane might have crashed from running out of oil.

So as to anyone that has a DUMB question....Please ask, we will all be educated.
