Happy Thanksgiving (USA) (6)
This post is on the Other Topics web board.

i want to take a moment to wish all of you in the USA a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving. Each of us, both M and s types, has a long list of things about which we are thankful, i'm sure, and i hope that today gives you a moment to reflect upon those fantastic things.
For all who are not in the USA, Happy Thanksgiving anyway. Just because it's a US holiday today doesn't mean that people around the world aren't just as thankful for what they have. Have a blessed and wonderful day.

Two years ago I've been invited to celebrate Thanksgiving with a family in PA. When sitting down at the table there were three dried corn seeds on each plate. As guest I've been asked first to say my acknowledgements of gratitute (and had no clue what was spoken about). But when I comprehended I thanked (besides my hosts)
- for the clean air that I can breath
- for the birds that sing for me and
- for the flowers that brighten my life
Must have been the wrong thing, because they all referred to human beings. Anyway, I think I still stick to my choice.
Happy Thanksgiving to all US folks!
Andrin I ordered this fabulous troll warning device, really works great! What I don't understand though is, why it beeps and blinks whenever I come close?

i sent this literary blessing to everyone in my address book today and so will share it also with you:
Reflect that life, like every other blessing, derives its value from its use alone.

all best,

This year when we all asked each other at the table what we was thankful for, i simply responded with this:
"I am thankful for being back home where I belong, for my boy, who could not be here today... and for all those who serve our country and are deployed away from the ones they love."
It was simple, but for those around the table who were missing their loved ones, it was enough.
So for those who couldn't be with us on Thanksgiving... You sacrifice a lot to be without your family on this holiday.
Those WE missed this year:
My slave, Angel
My mother
My brother, in the army and doing his duty to our country.
Thanksgiving is often a sad, but wonderful holiday.
Thank you for giving me the chance to express this. (A day late and a dollar short.) Miss Kit, Mistress and Owner of Angel.

OOh this is a tradition I didn't know about. You each say thank you for 3 things? Is that right? What a lovely idea. I know the basic history of Thanksgiving but not details like this and it takes Andrin to tell us! How funny. Thanks A.
It seems like a lovely holiday to me and I'm always a bit miffed we have to wait so long for our turkey dinner!

Anjuli,
Different households have different traditions. Most say grace... but... at the MacCain house, W/we go round the table each saying thanks for what ever W/we are thankful for. Kinda funny what the younger members of the household come up with!
