The one writer that I can name off the top of my head would be Edward Said. Here's a reference article on him, if you are interested in his work:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Said

I'm sure there are lots of other writers that you could research, but Said was the one who came immediately to my mind.

I used to work in a bookstore and I know we carried Said's book there, so it is still in print and is still available. Glad I could help.

I checked out that site and I will start with him; the period I'm interested in is the 18th century or so Romance period, and I'm sure he'll have this as part of the historical aspect of his book.

"Romance period" = "Romantic period"? ie Byron, Coleridge etc?

This was a crucial time for Orientalism because artists actually started going there rather than just reading second hand accounts from travellers. I don't know very much about this with English writers directly, but you can see the difference in French painting between Ingres (who didn't get further than Italy) and Delacroix (who visited real Algerian homes.)

I also wrote a blog about Lewis's "Intercepted Correspondence" when I put it up above the fireplace in my study, and that has more background about people like Edward Lane and Lewis in Egypt. They're later than your period though.

I'm not sure what to suggest since "Multiple Wives, Multiple Pleasures" (I don't make these titles up ;) ) by Joan Del Plato starts in 1800 and the other books I'm familiar with start later.

On Page 91, there is a photograph assumed to be around 1930's, taken by an anonymous photographer

This is almost certainly out of copyright and purely technical reproductions (eg reprinting it in a journal) do not establish a new copyright :)

Yes--I don't know why I keep referring to that time as the "Romance" Period rather than Romantic, but I'm thinking I need to check my paper again before I hand it in lol. My text is the Norton Anthology, which clearly states "The Romantic Period."

A Freudian slip, perhaps? ;)

I blog, do you blog?

I've got that picture of 1930's "erotic enslavement" on my profile now.
