Purchasing a toy box (22)
This post is on the Other Topics web board.

I have an old hat/steamer type box that I got about 13 years ago at The Limited. It has 2 buckles so we lock it and leave it by the hope chest. If anyone asks, we just say it's our important stuff and they woulden't want to know. |

When I was with my former Master we had 2 chests. One was about 4 foot wide. It had 3 small drawers on top and 2 very large ones on the bottom. One drawer was converted to fold down to accommodate large items but still had drawer handles so it looked like a normal drawer.
It was not lockable but as it was in the bedroom and looked like somewhere to put clothes no one bothered with it.
We also had (which I now have custody of lol) a blanket box. It is about 3 foot long and can store canes comfortably by putting them corner to corner. Although it did not come with a hasp for a padlock on it, one was easily screwed in place. It was screwed inside the chest which makes it less noticeable but still allows for a thick padlock.
Originally there was a combination padlock on there but it has been changed to a key padlock as it was easier than trying to explain the combination to my new Master. Also, my memory isn't working as well as it used to.
Let's face it.....it is far easier to find a key than remember a combination. If you are reaching for the toys then you probably have more important things on your mind!

Oh, I didn't know that. Does coiling them ruin their integrity?
Thank you everyone for the ideas presented thus far.
I have another question right now, spurred on from last night. Master had me get out some things from the toy box. After we clean some items, dildo and butt plug for example, we simply put them in a ziploc bag. There's got to be a better way to store these items.
How do you store your toys in your toy box after cleaning? iinarihoudai

At walmart there are those foot locker type chests that I think you can put a padlock on. You can also create compartments inside of them with some of those little tote boxes for smaller items to keep them organized as you choose. The footlocker box runs about 30 dollars at walmart. They come in a small selection of colors. They also have handles for moving them as well. Now as for the extended spreader bars I don' think those will fit in them. Or if you chose you could always just work out a dresser drawer until you find something that you think is fitting to what it is that your looking for. Just a couple of ideas. rappy
here are a few links to some of those footlockers and chests.

If they are stored coiled up they can take that shape and will/may not throw correctly. It is a real pain to get them back to normal if you can, I have a rubber cat that fell and I did not know it as it ended up behind something, I have tried for months to return it back to it's original shape. It's time to toss it out, I hate too since it left such nice marks but the falls just go all over the place now and not where I want them to.

That may be a problem with rubber, but not so much with leather. Leather may pick up a curl if it's left coiled for a long time, but it's usually easy enough to correct that. Instructions from the guy who makes my floggers:
| 1.) Try flattening it under some books or a board with weights on it.
2.) Iron it with a clothes iron, just go slow and push up the temperature incrementally until you get the result you desire.Perhaps use a thin cloth like a bandana over each blade to help protect it. You might even use the steam option and iron it both front and back just make sure to let it dry very well but not so much as to remove all of the moisture from the piece.
3.) Dress it out in a very moist fashion with something like Pecards leather dressing (www.pecards.com) and work it with your hands until it will hang to a new shape.
4.) Try running it under some warm water and that will work in a similar fashion as the Pecards only perhaps more so but it might leave it a little stiff when it dries. You then have the option of dressing it out.
5.) Use a combination of these things to see what works for you. Remember, it is skin and it is strong and will stand up to a lot. The only risks you take in manipulating the leather is changing the texture slightly which can be adjusted yet again with a dressing and so on and mold if you don't dry it well enough. |

If I may make a suggestion. For leather as I have always done this with bridles and stuff for a saddle. Submerge the leather in water and then lay it out with the falls flat, afterwards get some mink oil and condition the leather until you get the leather back to the way you want it to be. As far as the rubber if I may make another suggestion. Take a large pan maybe a roaster. Put water in it and a cloth on the bottom in the water. Place the flogger on the bottom and boil it. Just enough to loosen it, then remove it and lay it out flat on a dry towel. This should work am not entirely sure. I do know that the leather can be conditioned, as with all leather to keep it from drying out should be conditioned anyway. rappy. bound by love to the One that holds her heart, even in the darkness she feels warmth through the chill of her own pain. http://rapturemusing.blogspot.com/

Sir and i saw a traveling toy box on a web site but they wanted almost $300 for it. So, He took the concept and made our own. He used a suitcase on wheels with the same dimensions as the one the site was selling. We purchased to pages to hold floggers, etc. and a box to hold rope from the site. Then we did the rest ourselves. We have a wonderful toy bag that holds everything with some room for expansion for about $30.
