i brought along all my stuffed toys. and everything else i could ship. i moved 700 km to be here, after all, so i sold all the furniture and house stuff. and since i'm designing the furniture, i'm responsible for storage space.
well, take along all that is really important. if i could have, i would have brought along my 3 year collection of fashion magazines, my beloved deceased fashion reference. but awell...
c'est la vie. nhah!

When i moved into Tanos's household i was in a similar position, too many belongings and a smaller space than i had lived in previously. i also found it necessary to get rid of any appliances i owned as Tanos and lili already had everything in place. i must admit looking back it all seems very silly but i remember finding it very difficult to get rid of a double bed (only i could get sentimentally attached to a bed ). In the end i bit the bullet and gave a lot of things away, i personally find giving things to charity makes this easier and i was also lucky enough to have a family member with whom i could store more valuable things such as a computer that took up too much room to be practical here.
Funnily enough this post has made me think about the items i held onto and i really should arrange to sell or dispose of them and give my relative the space back, they just don't have the importance they did a year ago.
In answer to you question though i brought all my personal documents, photographs and a box of memories, past university work, clothes, shoes, fetish wear, toiletries, CD's, Videos, a small TV, a DVD and Video combi player, music system, books, a few ornaments/ decorations and my handbag and its contents.
i can understand if you find it daunting to commit to leaving things behind but in my experience i've not missed anything. In reality the things that i would have missed such as computer access Tanos made alternative arrangements for (aren't laptops wonderful ).
After the initial saying goodbye i've hardly stopped to think about it again until this post.

Thank you one and all for the wonderfull responses. This girl didn't know how little she had till she found out how much some other's have. Clothes and her computer is all she can think of that's really valuable to her. It did help to get other's perspectives on it though. Submissivly yours,
Kim

I don't find that silly at all.
As I said in my post, susie brought her bed with her and we still use that even though when she moved in I had a brand new bed bought only a few months before.
Hers was important at that time because it was one of the things she chose to buy for herself when she was finding her feet and independance after escaping from her abusive marriage...it is now a symbol of her surrendering that independance to me, it is now MY bed! *s*

You are a deeply empathetic Master. There are many kinds of Masters, and not to say you are "better" than others but I think you are one it would be easier to trust because you seem to understand how the heart works.
For me and my slavery and submission, it is very very intertwined with the heart.

Congrats to those with anniversaries, engagements, collarings, weddings, etc - these are wonderful events and i hope enjoyed by all
Master and i got married vanilla for a decade before our collaring about 3 years ago. A lot of my stuff ended up in storage until we saw what we needed of it. In the end, most of it was disposed of as duplicating what he already had. But i'd strongly suggest a storage unit for what you think you don't need - just in case. it's an option for some, anyways.
As for when i got collared, the most important thing i brought with me into the new level of our relationship was a good attitude - something i seldom had before the lifestyle/ (Probably because i was trying to be someone i was not and deny who i was - when i finally came out of ye olde whips and chains closet, it changed me for the better, for sure!)
And to whoever made the remark about taking everything but the ex-spouse - that left me laughing my anatomy off! Master had 3 ex-spouses, one a psuedo-bottom who TRIED to bottom frotm the top, one of whom was just a real bad person all along and one, unfortunately, died. i had 3 ex-spouses also. Part of learning to really be commited to each other, esp. at the level of a collaring - DID mean for us to leave the baggage of our ex-spouses fully behind and our excruciatingly painful upbringings. We had to build trust and see each other as individuals, not as representative of the opposite genders worst traits. j/L Papa Lou'S VERY OWN! P.S. how come no matter how often i laugh my anatomy off, this one does not seem to be losing any weight? (GRIN) |

Thanks for the congrats (thanks to You too Philipy), and this one wishes she knew why laughing doesn't seem to melt the pounds away.
Have found a site where they did a study on exactly that! Seems if you laugh 10-15 minutes per day, you can burn 50 calories (depending on body size and intensity of laughter). Who knew!!!

With all the laughter here in This House, one would think she'd be a ghost by now (giggle). ariana - property of Master_Dan63

So that's how kitten stays so trim! Master Coyote and kitten laugh all the time. (It has absolutly nothing to do with kitten's hummingbird type metabolism... *giggle*.. Or the fact that Master always says, "Who needs excersize equipment when I've got you around..." ) Coyote's kitten (116-597-286) ~ Owned & collared by Master Coyote
"It took a Coyote to tame this kitten."
