In centuries past, a thrall or servant, let alone a slave, set out on a long journey to the Manor House, Mansion, or Castle of its Lord or Lady or other Superior without any knowledge or any previous contact save perhaps a letter of invitation. No drawing, painting, or photo, no lengthy discourses of reassurance and, quite frankly and honestly, no way out. Upon arrival, this thrall did not ask questions of the Superior, except how to better serve the Superior's needs, and only then with due respect and permission. On a whim or with due cause, the Superior could dismiss the underling or send it to the gallows or give/sell it to Another as the Superior saw fit, as was the Superior's right. A Superior controlled all aspects of thrall life under Their care, from what the thrall wore, ate, where to sleep, eat, dress, bathe, etc, to when and how hard the thrall worked, to telling the thrall how to think, feel and worship, and then using thralls however the Superior desired. Those famous Knights of old, who were legendarily so pure for Their Lady's love from afar, thought nothing of ravaging an underling (servant or thrall) for sexual gratification so that Their own needs were met.
True slavery is non-consensual ownership of another, which I do not advocate nor practice, so to differentiate I will refer to the opposite of My Position as 'thrall,' a feudal concept which represents something of a cross between slavery and being an indentured servant. Now as a Superior in the Information Age, I am pleased I do not have to send an invitation to just any random thrall, through the wonders of the Internet the Superior can now examine it via photos, webcam, and even voice conversation. I may judge thrall compliance or ask it to prove itself to validate its credentials and verify its identity, however, would any thrall, slave, or even servant of times past ever have asked its Superior for such verification it would have been minimally dismissed post-haste if not brought to the brink of death for such insolence.
Call Me old fashioned, out-dated, outmoded, or out of the loop, I don't care, as the Superior I am above that which I seek, therefore My looks, My age and My body are totally irrelevant. It is not how attractive I am, nor how much muscle mass I have, nor how tall I am, nor how long or thick a penis I have that determine how good of a Master I am. As an extreme example, I could be three foot-four, weigh over four hundred pounds, have a tiny penis, and be the ugliest Man on earth and it would not matter, because the control I have over the thrall is that I am in absolute control of My mind and emotions and intensely aware of how to use them and much more to control the behaviors, thoughts, and feelings of others. Conversely, if I were six foot seven inches of solid muscle with a nine and a half incher and controlled only through My physicality along with fear and intimidation (which may work for Some), I would not be able to mold a thrall into what I truly desire: one whose sole wish is to serve Me totally and become a perfect fit to My ever changing needs. Furthermore, although I rigidly control the physical and sexual expression, the body, and shape the behaviors, thoughts and feelings, I do not control or manipulate the spiritual expression of a thrall under My control, if that expression does not interfere with My commands or instructions being carried out.
I felt the sting of fake wannabee 'slaves,' as probably every true Dom or Master on these sites has contended, and I have heard from a couple of thralls that in discussions there exist more than one Dominant who was not in the least bit 'real.' Rationally, I do understand the need to eventually seek some verification from the Superior before launching headlong into that home, bedroom, basement or dungeon, just make sure the disclosure timing is on the Superior's terms and conditions. If the thrall truly does not feel safe going forward without further information, then, at that point, make it known in an extremely respectful and submissive (this does not preclude assertive, just not aggressive) manner.
